  • Description

Bonjour! I’m Charlotte, a pharmacy student from Germany who recently decided it’s time to study a little less and see a lot more of the world. I’m an active and curious person who loves being outdoors and trying new things.Sports are a big part of my life — swimming, soccer, diving, volleyball, surfing, cycling, hiking… you name it, I’ll probably enjoy it. I also coached a boys’ soccer team for a year, so i really like working with kids.
I have three sisters, so I basically had no choice but to develop good social skills. ;) Whether it’s playing games, exploring outside, or just talking for hours, i always enjoy beeing around others. I’m also always happy to help, whether it’s around the house, in the garden, or taking care of your animals. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty at all. I love cooking healthy meals that taste great and look beautiful — something I didn’t have much time for while studying. Now I finally get to enjoy it again, and I really believe that good food is an everyday joy.

I speak English fluently and I’m currently learning French. I’ve started with Duolingo and some help from friends, so I understand a bit already — but I’d love to improve much more while living in France.

I’m excited to meet new people, learn new skills, and discover new places!

More details about my language interests
As a native German speaker, I can of course speak German fluently. I also speak English very well. I would really love to learn French! I started with Duolingo and took a course in my university for a few weeks, but I couldn’t finish it because of my studies. So my French isn’t great yet — but I learn quickly, and I’m very motivated to improve. I’d be really happy to practice and learn more while staying with you.

As I already mentioned, I’m always happy to help and I really enjoy trying and learning new things. Here are a few things I’m not too bad at — at least I hope so ;)

Being a sporty person, I’m pretty resilient — physically and mentally. Long days in the lab during my pharmacy studies taught me how to stay focused, handle pressure and work well with others. I also learned how important it is to stay easy‑going, even when things get a bit stressful, and I really appreciate good teamwork.

I love working with children. As I already mentioned, I volunteered as a coach for a boys’ soccer team for a year, and over the past few years I’ve regularly looked after two young children from a family I know well. Growing up with three siblings myself also gave me plenty of experience with the dynamics, chaos and fun of a bigger family.

I enjoy cooking healthy, colourful meals and I’d say I’m not too bad at it — though I’m always excited to learn more. I like preparing food for others and sharing a meal together.

Music is also a big part of my life. I’ve been playing the piano for about 15 years, and I love singing and making music with others whenever I get the chance.

  • What else ...

I love playing games — card games, board games, whatever you’ve got. My siblings always had to play with me, so… fair warning 😉 My favourites are Canasta and Kniffel.

I’m not the most creative person, but I still like doing something artsy — so paint‑by‑numbers is my thing ^^ It’s calming and fun. I also love putting on an audiobook, lying on the floor and doing a puzzle for a while. It’s such a nice way to relax.

I’m curious to see what hobbies you have !
