Hi there! My name is Lotta and I'm 19 years old. I am now doing my gap year and looking forward to travel as long as possible. I am especially looking to grow, experience the unforgettable and get to know wonderful people.

My main interests are tennis, horse riding and creativity/arts. But I am a person that really does enjoy a lot of stuff, like other sports (for example volleyball, running, photography) but also connecting with animals and people, being with kids, doing small projects in groups and m.m
I'm a big animal person. I have grown up around animals and are used to having them in my daily life.

Friends and Family would describe me as a sweet, positive, strong and creative person. Also good at problem solving, good at seeing the bigger picture and finding easy solutions. I would say add precise, tidy and a good listener.

Me and my friend did recently volunteering for 2 months in both Portugal and in Spain. We worked on a steel sailboat refit, on a small horse farm and in a surf hostel.
I really loved it! I am now looking for another workaway from January to April 2026.

I’ve gained a lot of experience through everyday life on our country home property, and I’m confident to adapt wherever I’m needed.

Animal care is one of my biggest strengths. I’ve grown up around animals and love being around them. We currently have a dog, a cat, and some sheep, and in the past, we've also had horses, cows, bunnies, and chickens. I'm comfortable feeding, grooming, cleaning, and spending time with animals, especially horses — horse riding is a big passion of mine, and I’d love to gain more experience working with them abroad.

Gardening and physical work are also things I am used to. I’m not afraid of hard work and find it really satisfying to see progress in a garden or outdoor space.
When it comes to household tasks, I genuinely enjoy cleaning and organizing — I find it calming and rewarding. I’m also happy to help in the kitchen or with whatever needs doing around the house.

I’m also great with children and feel a natural connection with them. I’ve always found it easy to communicate and play with kids, and I’m patient, responsible, and caring. I once worked a short time at a daycare center, and I got along with the kids more than well.

I learnt how to refit some things on a steel sailboat refit, like removing paint, grinding and drilling. Then also how to clean before putting paint on and so on. It was a great experience for me!

I am also experienced in hostel work, like checking In and out, showing the guest around and making them feel welcomed and much cleaning.

In general, I’m a fast learner, open-minded, and always up for trying new things, especially if it means learning new skills or being useful to others.

What else ...

I’m a really good listener. I find peace in simple moments, like walking in nature or just being present with people.
I enjoy staying active like swimming, cycling, tennis, and running.

I also like painting, drawing, and playing a bit of piano.

One of the biggest reasons why I want to travel is that I haven’t yet found my “thing” that passion or purpose that really clicks. I hope that by meeting people, exchanging ideas, and living a bit outside my comfort zone, I’ll get closer to discovering what that might be.
