  • Description

Hey, I am Franka - a woman from the countryside who fell in love with animals and nature. I do love the outdoors and whenever I can I'm ready to take my backpack and go on the next adventure.

The last two years I was working in a garden centre, what I really enjoyed but at the same time I felt that I want to go back on journeys and work at other places around Europe. To combine both I started to study "International Forest Ecosystem Management" where I can learn a lot of plants, animals, climate and how everything is connected to each other. I love to see all the wonders in the world but at the same time I see how the planet is burning at the moment. My dream is to work in places with animals, animal shelters and wild animal projects and nature projects where we can learn how to live together and be thankful for the nature given things and how we can give something back to Mother Nature.

  • More details about your skills

I love planning trips, cooking, doing sports (rock & tree climbing, archery, skating, swimming, snorkeling), gardening , go hiking and taking pictures, learn about sustainability and climate.

Before I did some workaways and I also started to create my own workaway in the gardencentre for a while:

foodsharing project - volunteering at festivals - barkeeping - Au Pair in Ireland with three Leprechauns! - working in a nature kindergarten - working on the filmset of Babylon Berlin (German Movie Production)

    organic permaculture farm in Portugal:
where I learned how to deal with a burned forest, how trees can grow in a completely burned area and that nature will come back there, how to create a permaculture garden, grow your own and healthy food, the impact of food of our health, things about the universe and a cold river shower is a good start in every day

    a goats farm in Hungary:
I learned how to start the day with milking goats, how to deal with looking for your goats on 40ha of land, building fences, teaching dogs, taking care about horses, having enough hay for the animals, drive a British car on a field, make different doughs for stick bread, cook special dinners every day, make own cheese, being part of a documentary about animal shelters, learning how a goat can take a big place into my heart.

a hostel in the polish Tatra Mountains:
I learned about the beauty to live close to a Nationalpark, planning hiking tours for myself & hostel guests, taking always enough food to hiking trips, creating a nice atmosphere in the hostel common area, preparing breakfast for all the guests, making a soup with non alcoholic beer, how to wake up my team members, how to survive one night in a cable car station, how a cat can leave scratches on your skin & heart, singing, dancing and eating a lot of peanut butter, making the best barbecues and meeting polish people in the mountains, collecting trash in the national park, finding out that making beds is a nice job, watching stars under the sky and send out wishes to shooting stars.

cooking in a vegan lunch project:
dancing in a jam session, doing yoga, cleaning big yoga suits, preparing the best vegan food, learning English, planting vegetables, drawing, making music together, riding bike at the German-Polish border, going swimming in lakes during the nighttime and an orange full moon

    a diving centre in Portugal:
I would love to learn how to dive in the ocean. I do love snorkeling and discover the great world underwater. Once I tried to work in a diving centre in Portugal - but I didn't feel welcome - I couldn't reach anybody by phone and the place I was supposed to stay was a lot colder then a fridge, there weren't any other workawayer and nobody really talked to me - except of the guest, they were great. That's why I told them I didn't feel comfortable at the place and now you can see a one star comment in my profile. My only not really nice experience I had during all the great times with workaway. But that happens I guess.

And now it's time to explore new stuff :)
