Description
Hello everyone!
Our names are Lisa and Sarah-Margot, we are two South French girls with a fresh degree in anglophone studies. After three years at University we wish to embark on a new journey full of personal growth and changes!
We are new to this whole adventure, but we're extremely determined to fulfill this dream and share experiences with workaway hosts!
To us, this journey is the perfect opportunity to learn more about ourselves and people around us, to learn new cultures and ways of life and traditions. We are hardworking and most of all, eager to learn and make use of ourselves —we are not afraid of physical work!
Lisa:
Since I was three years old I’ve always dreamt of travelling to Australia! Funny story: it all started with a picture of an Australian kangaroo that I had found on the floor of my classroom. Since then, I’ve been longing for Australia: each plane I saw in the sky I thought was going to Australia and would take me! I am now 20 and this dream never left me. I've taken a greater interest in the country and finishing my degree marks the end, for me, to make this dream come true.
My passion for literature and tales brought me the opportunity to work in a library, which taught me organising skills. Also, as someone who feels involved in the conservation of the environment I also did volunteering to clean the south coast of France. Incidentally, I would really love to discover the Great Barrier Reef during this experience! My environmental consciousness stretches out to forests and nature in general.
On top of that I also enjoy painting and to a broader extent art in all its forms.
What is more, I am deeply interested in psychology and languages, which makes me a people oriented person!
I would love to share my interests with you!
Sarah-Margot:
Being 22 (will be 23 during the trip), I've had time for acquiring professional experiences (I've worked in a babysitting agency for a year, as a ice-cream maker in summer, in large retailers, as a urban waste agent, and more! ) but I long for more! I enjoy studying but I also think that there is more to life, so, before jumping into a two-years master degree or professional life, I wish to know more about the world beyond what's in the books.
More than that, I love to learn about people, about life experiences, and share meaningful conversations.
Also, I've always been quite an adventurous person, even as a child I was always running around in the forest with my cousins and this passion for nature and wildlife only grew with time: I love to trek, to bivouac and to hike during my free time! So, like Lisa, I'm quite a nature oriented person as well and have volunteered in local clean walks organised by the youth of my town multiple time.
Another passion of mine is literature. I always have a huge pile of books to rummage through or an idea for a new novel to write and I would love to share thoughts about literature with our hosts!
One last and slightly niche interest I have is Norse Mythology (and more generally Nordic civilisations) and I'm always happy to discuss about the Norse gods or the Vikings with fellow enthusiasts, or simply talk about it with whoever would want to!
In short, I am very curious and active and I would be delighted to show those aspects of my personality to you!
We are both hardworking and very motivated and aren’t afraid of challenges and so ready to be of use to you and to learn alongside you!
Hoping to see you soon!
