Bonjour!

My name is Liliane, I am from the UK, but last September I moved to Paris to do a PhD. I really love living in France so far, and hope to be here for the foreseeable future. I did not know any French before I moved here, but I am very keen to learn! I have been taking lessons in Paris, but would love to have to practice more!

I have always love to travel and meet new people from all around the world, so I thought I could combine my love of travel and my desire to improve my french with Workaway. I am hoping to join a family/community/person/etc in their home this summer and to help out in any way I can in exchange for practicing my french! I am open to all kinds of work and happy to learn something new to help out, it is all part of the adventure :)

To give you an idea of my french level, I can read and write in french at maybe a high A2 level, but I have been struggling a lot with speaking (the pronunciation!).
I have previously worked as an au pair in Austria where I was able to improve my German, so I am very good at persevering through my limited language skills and finding ways to communicate.

I am looking forward to meeting you and to having a little bit of an adventure!

Je m'appelle Liliane, je viens du Royaume-Uni, mais en septembre dernier j'ai déménagée à Paris pour faire mon doctorat. J'aime vraiment vivre en France, et j'espère être là pendant longtemps. Je ne savais pas le français avant j'ai déménagée ici, mais je suis très intéressée d'appendre! Je prend des cours français, mais je voudrais pratiquer!

J'ai toujours aimé voyager et rencontrer de nouvelles personnes du monde entier, alors je pense que je pourrais combiner mon amour du voyager et mon désir d'apprendre le français avec Workaway. J'espère rejoindre une famille/communauté/personne dans leur maison cet ètè et aider de toutes les manières possibles en échange de la pratique de mon français! Je suis ouvert à toutes sortes de travaux et heureux d'apprendre quelque chose de nouveau pour aider, tout cela fait partie de l'aventure :)

Pour vous donner une idée de mon niveau de français, je peux lire et écrire en français à un niveau A2, mais j'ai beaucoup de mal à parler (et à bien prononcer !).

J'ai déjà travaillé comme fille au pair en Autriche, où j'ai pu améliorer mon allemand. Je suis donc très douée pour persévérer malgré mes compétences linguistiques limitées et trouver des moyens de communiquer.

J'ai hâte de vous rencontrer et de vivre une petite aventure !
