Hi! I'm Leora, 22 years old and I live in Zurich, Switzerland. After two wonderful Workaway experiences in Scotland three years ago, I'm excited to be back and curious to see what new experiences this autumn will bring!
I'm currently finishing my bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences with a specialisation in Forest and Landscape. A few years ago, I worked on a vegetable farm for several months, and during my studies I worked as a teaching assistant and on a farmers market. Whenever I get the chance, I love spending time outdoors – hiking in the mountains, swimming or cycling.
The environment is very important to me, and I care a lot about finding ways to make our lives more sustainable. I enjoy being outside, learning new skills and working with my hands. I also love meeting people from all over the world and learning about different cultures, customs and ways of life.
And last but not least, I really enjoy the company of animals – they simply make me happy :)

More details about my language interests
I'm always interested in learning some of the local language wherever I go. For me, making an effort to understand and speak at least a little of the language is an important part of travelling in a more mindful and sustainable way, and a great way to connect with people and their culture. German is my native language, and I'd also be very happy to help anyone who is interested in learning or practising German.

I have some hands-on experience with gardening and farm work from working on a vegetable farm for several months, and I'd love to learn more about growing food, sustainable farming and animal care. I also have some experience looking after animals, especially cats and dogs, which I've often taken care of for friends and neighbours.
Alongside my studies, I've had different part-time jobs, including working at a vegetable market and as a teaching assistant at university, where I supported students during practical courses.
I enjoy working as part of a team, learning from others and exchanging experiences, but I'm also comfortable working independently. I'm reliable and responsible when it comes to getting things done, and I don't mind work that requires patience, persistence or getting my hands dirty. I'm always happy to learn new skills and try things I haven't done before.
