  • Description

    Hello fellow restless spirits,
My name is Lien and I come from a small town in the Countryside of Germany. I grew up in a large, old house, always surrounded by at least 4 species of animals, including chickens, dogs, various rodents over the years and the occasional stray squirrel or bird, which would always find a safe space in our home.. These are some of my fondest memories and a guiding factor in my want to learn as much as I can about environmental issues, as well as animal wellbeing and anything relating to these topics, which is exactly the reason why I decided to travel, to get an outsider perspective on these issues and find likeminded beings fur or no fur :)

    I am furiously passionate about:
-animals of any kind (if you couldn’t guess already ;)
-finding new creative ways to protect the environment
-creativity of almost any form, mostly drawing and crafting, but also sewing or sculpting whichever new obsession comes my way
    -musical theatre and movie making
-music (which i painfully regularly try and fail to participate in)
-books and stories of any kind, especially when being told face to face
    -history and cultural phenomena
(The more detailed and oddly specific the better)
-yoga and any outdoor activity, preferably hiking

I have always absolutely loved travelling and that exilerating feeling of nostalgia, excitement and alertness a new scenery can give you, but often felt like the typical tourist experience left me feeling a bit empty and like i was just taking, instead of giving and receiving. I would love to acquire any kind of skill that can be taught! As I absolutely thrive on variation I am eager to sink my teeth into any unknown task, hoping to learn from you in any way possible not shying away from hard or challenging work and without a fear of getting mucky :)

I look forward to meeting beautiful people and gaining new experiences while hoping to maybe make a tiny difference somewhere!

  • More details about your skills

Growing up in a household, that was always very in tune with nature, I was lucky to learn a lot from my surroundings and relatives, leaving me with basic knowledge and skills in things like gardening, animal care (horse riding skills included) I also am quite a passionate baker and cook!

Agriculture and farming are something I have been extremely interested in for a long time and was able to gain quite a bit of knowledge about as I spent several months on a farm participating in a school project and also during a few workaway experiences in Ireland on a self sufficient farm in Galway and in Kildare where I spent some time at a private animal rescue, which was an incredible opportunity and taught me so much about keeping calm in challenging situations when animals are involved understanding the risks and responsibility that go into animal care!

I have about 5 years experience in customer service and I know what it takes to keep a gastro business flourishing as I was involved in the process of starting and upholding our family owned pub from the start, which means I know how to create and uphold a professional setting, while still always keeping it light and making people feel at home, which in my opinion is the best and most joyful part in any customer service job for me. In total I have done about 5 years of bar work, as well as two years working as a waitress for a medieval event catering in which time I also worked at a café, mostly doing baking and waitressing, as well as helping out at events.

Having completed my school with an emphasis on sociology and health I am quite passionate about topics like mental health and greatly enjoy working with people of any age, especially kids!
I love to do anything in which I have a certain amount of creative liberty and constantly come up with new project ideas, but also understand the importance a strict set of rules can have when working together as a team.

I have my drivers license a total of 2 years and consider myself a safe driver (switchgear and automatic)
