Hello!
My name is Louise. I'm 37 and originally from the UK. I have a background in hospitality and publishing and certified as a yoga teacher in 2018 from the Soma Yoga institute. I am particularly interested in learning about permaculture and cacao; and further developing my skills in plant based cooking, community food projects, foraging and herbalism.
Alongside teaching restorative yoga in hostels, boutique hotels and studios in the UK, Latin America, Egypt and Indonesia, I have spent the last five years travelling and gaining experience in marine conservation and scuba diving. However, I sustained significant dive injury in 2022 and decided to stop diving professionally. However, my experience taught me excellent awareness skills, team communication and made me much better at reading non-verbal communication skills both above and below the water.
Before leaving the UK, I worked in the fine food industry, where I gained experience as a plant based chef, foraging consultant for restaurants, and had my own business doing fine chocolate consultancy. I was a volunteer forager for Herbalists without Borders, helping to create plant remedies and medicine for people who, due to their policital or religous status, did not have or want access to pharmaceutical medicine. In my free time, I enjoy long distance running, freediving, reading, cooking, yoga, stargazing, wild swimming, hiking and volunteering with animals. I have fostered and helped rehome around ten cats and dogs in Egypt and Puerto Rico since 2020, including Gati who was guest of honour when her new owners eloped to Denmark!
I also have experience in publishing and can help with editing, copywriting and book writing including cook books. I am a TEFL teacher with experience teaching intermediate to advanced students; and I can speak a basic level of Spanish and shwaya shwaya Araby. Finally, I have five years experience as a tour guide and really enjoy creating extra special memories for my guests to take home.
I am a quick, independent and curious thinker, hard-working, self-motivated and enjoy learning. I am trained in team psychology but also work well independently. I'm always willing to get my hands dirty; fresh fruit, trees and saltwater make me happy! I am in good general physical health, a non-smoker, do not drink and hold a clean UK drivers licence and ACRO police certificate.
I look forward to sharing some adventures with you soon!Interests
