Hi everyone! Our names are Ola and Michal (Mikel). Currently we live in Warsaw, Poland and Mikel have just finished his bachelor studies in area of African Studies. Before his Master's, we want to make a "gap year" and to "find ourselves". As we have always been living in cities (Michal is from Łódź and Ola is from Coimbra) we would love to spend some time in the countryside and to work physically with vegetables and animals.
MIKEL: As my biggest passion is learning Basque language, I would like to spend around three months (March-May) with a Basque family and to learn this amazing language in its natural environment. My other passions are linguistics, travels and sport (I used to be a cyclist). I am a helpful and easy going person, open to new things and experiences. I love to spend time with children and usually I have good contact with them. I speak fluent English, Polish and Portuguese, but I can also easily communicate in Euskera (Basque), Castellano and French. I am learning Swahili.
OLA (CURRENTLY ON MEDICAL TREATMENT IN POLAND): I am working as a movie translator, but I have decided that it is not a kind of work for me, so I wanted to try something new and joined Mikel in the ecological farm in Gipuzkoa, Basque Country. My first three weeks (until medical problems and return to Poland) have shown that I am a responsible and detail oriented person. I also love children. Before turning into a translator I was working in some kindergartens and basic schools as an English teacher. I speak fluent English, Polish, Portuguese and Italian and I am learning Basque.
In the near future together with Ola we want to buy a farmhouse and have our own sheep.
EXPERIENCE: 3 months in the Basque ecological farms. Main tasks:
- taking care of sheep (Mikel can take care of a small flock of sheep up to 30 units by himself, but want to learn more!!!);
- taking care of chickens (both);
- taking care of vegetable gardens (both);
- helping with construction (Ola only some easy tasks that do not require carrying objects);
- domestic help (Ola)

Kaixo denok! Nire izena Michał da, baina Mikel deitzen ahal nauzue. Poloniakoa naiz eta aurten nire lizentziatura amaitu dut (Afrikako Ikasketak). Diplomatura baino lehen "urte librea" egin eta naturarekin harreman aurkitu nahi ditut (Bizitz osoa herri handietan bizi nintzen). Horregatik baserri baten lan egin nahiago nuke. Beste gauza bat nitaz, nire pasio handia Euskera da eta Euskal familiarekin bizi eta lan egin nahiko nuke, Euskera ikasteko eta praktikatzeko! Euskal Herrian 3 hilabete pasatu nahi dut (Martxoa-Maiatza). Besarkadak eta musuak! :)
