Hi I'm Kim and I'm currently in Canada with an IEC Visa. I'm in my mid 30ies and enjoy being in this beautiful country and travelling around with my van. I already did lots of volunteering in New Zealand where I was travelling before. I mostly stayed on wwoofing farms (kiwi, flower, avocado, beef farm, vinyard), but I've also done some painting jobs and helped with an air b&b and some housekeeping. It was always fun to live and work at different places and I enjoyed being part of the family. I met so many nice people and had a great time. I learned lots of new things and skills and I'm still thinking back to this wonderful time! And that's why I want to be part of the Workaway Community here in Canada too! I think I can learn a lot but can also share some of my stories and experiences.

I love gardening and plants and I do have lots of this 'green stuff' back home:). I enjoy being in nature, going for a hike or taking my bicycle (unfortunately that's back home). I can work with my hands and I don't mind if they are getting dirty. I' m interested and curious about learning new things and work in an unknown environment. One of my 'goals' here in Canada is to get some experience in woodworking as I think wood is one of the best materials in the world! I'm also curious about learning things about beekeeping as that's definitely a part of 'gardening' and producing food that I'm still missing.

I like to communicate and to work in customer service and I'm used to work in a busy environment. I was working at the Vancouver Christmas Market as a cashier at one of the food stands and it was fun to talk to so many different people and to be first person at the front, even when there were some weird situations as well 🙃.

In New Zealand I stayed quite a while in a hostel in Wānaka (during Winter for skiing and spring for yoga) and that was so familiar and I was almost like a member of their team. Since then I want to work in a hostel or lodge too. I 'd love to work in a dynamic and active team and meet all kind of travelers. So I would be happy and pleased if I get the chance to work in that field.

I started in Vancouver, stayed there for a bit, did a short trip to Vancouver Island and was working at the Okanangan valley . Right now I 'm working in Golden for the summer season, but after mid September I'm open to all kind of places and I'm ready to help you with any kind of project and I'm happy to explore a new area:)

My English is quite good, but I still have to improve it a bit and there are always new words and phrases to learn. I've basic french skills, but they are a bit rusty atm and I'd love to improve my french too.

I 'm not a professional craftsman or waitress but I would describe myself as a fast learner and I adapt quickly to new tasks. I love to work in a team, but I'm also able to work autonomously. I guess that's also a thing about getting older;).

Oh board games! Yes I do like board games (I really enjoy playing monopoly (no joke!)).
I also love music and going to concerts. Sadly I don't play any instruments, but I enjoy listening to music, going to concerts and festivals or an open mic or something like that.
