My next destination:
Morocco - from Oct 2025 until Oct 2025 View allDescription
I love to experience new places, cultures, sights, sounds and smells. But most of all I love meeting new people and getting to know about their lives.
I’ve travelled and volunteered extensively across the world, from Africa to Asia and lots in between.
I'm orginally from London but have lived in many different places across the UK and lived in Zimbabwe for a while in my twenties.
I have a background in nursing and social work, with a focus on working with children. I spent many years working directly with young disabled children and their families.
I have four adult children of my own and two grandchildren.
My happy place is being in or near the sea but I also love forests and mountains. I prefer undeveloped, natural places rather than cities and like to get off the beaten track. I’m an inexpert climber, avid dancer and wild water swimmer. I also love to curl up with a good book.
I am very animal-friendly, having always had rescue pets and have done lots of pet sitting.

More details about your skills
I have been a nurse, a social worker and a coach /educator to parents of young disabled children. I have volunteered for an AIDS orphans charity in Zimbabwe, helped set up a Portage Service in Bulgaria, worked in an orphanage in Thailand and also learned natural building techniques and built a bamboo door from scratch there. I have volunteered in many other situations and settings. I am extremely adaptable, enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills. I’m also not frightened of a challenge!
I currently live in an intentional community/personal development centre and run the festival volunteer programme. I am a ‘people person’ and really enjoy supporting those who come to stay here with us. I am super organised and efficient. I can also cook for small groups, turn my hand to gardening - we have 3 poly tunnels - and am not afraid of housework!! Tech is not my strong point but I am able to do the basics of emails/input date to spreadsheets etc.Age
