  • Description

Hello/Bonjour/Hola! I'm Kaitie, I'm 32 years old, and living in the Cowichan Valley, located on the beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada.

I've recently become disenchanted with North American culture, which heavily focuses on making money, and getting ahead. I feel there's more to life, and my trip to Europe is a way to see what else is out there. I am a certified carpenter, and also have lots of experience in hospitality, and small scale farming. I am a fast learner, and very adaptable. My passions lie in travel, meeting new people, having meaningful conversations, learning about history, philosophy, psychology, healing, and whatever else comes up. I am really hoping to pick up new skills as well- specifically working with donkeys, learning natural building methods, and to work on my gardening skills. I love spending time in nature, so a remote set up is no problem to me. I find that a lot of my favorite times travelling were off-grid! I hope to be of use to you, and look forward to exchanging ideas and labour and creating new experiences we will never forget!

I’m looking forward to getting to know you, hearing your stories, and sharing in your little slice of paradise. :)

  • More details about your skills

I have a diverse background that includes carpentry, hospitality (waitressing as well as housekeeping), and some farming. My carpentry experience is useful not only for building projects but also for general physical labour. I have a natural way with both people and animals, and I enjoy creating a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere wherever I am. I’m also in my second year of tending a small veggie garden and would love to grow my skills in this area.

  • What else ...

My hobbies and interests include learning about history, reading, exploring in nature, having meaningful conversations, admiring architecture, and trying new things. I’m excited to see what new passions might emerge during my time in Europe! I tend to adapt to my surroundings- in the city, I love visiting cafés, discovering local foods, and soaking in the atmosphere, while in the countryside, I’m happiest with long walks, fresh air, and a good book.

  • Some more information

    • Allergies

    • Special dietary requirements
I have a sensitivity to gluten in North America, but I hear that in Europe it's processed differently, so I'm hoping to have no issues with it! I don't want anyone to have to alter meal plans for this sensitivity, so I would be ok eating it in moderation.
