Description
I'm Joaquín, a traveler from Mendoza, Argentina, currently spending time in Denmark with my brother, who has been living here for several years. After traveling through many countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania, I've found that I enjoy slowing down, getting involved in local life and contributing to meaningful projects rather than simply passing through as a tourist. I hold a Spanish passport and have full freedom of movement across Europe. That's what brought me to Workaway.
I'm particularly drawn to Scandinavia and German-speaking countries for their nature, outdoor culture and the straightforward, honest way people approach life and work. These are values I strongly identify with.
I speak fluent English, German (B2), which I developed during a six-month university exchange in Austria, and intermediate Italian. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and feel comfortable working in multilingual environments.
Before joining Workaway, I spent three weeks volunteering at a small yoga retreat near Sydney, Australia, helping with maintenance, kitchen tasks and welcoming guests. It gave me a great introduction to this kind of exchange and showed me how rewarding it can be to contribute to a project while becoming part of a local community.
I bring experience in hospitality, operations, logistics and customer service. In hospitality, I've worked in hotel operations in Adelaide, covering housekeeping, front desk and guest services. Back in Mendoza, I managed three Airbnb properties as a Superhost and also worked as a concierge assistant at a boutique wine hotel.
I'm also an Industrial Engineer and spent several years working in operations, supply chain and commercial roles for companies in Argentina. A few years ago, I decided to put that career path on hold for a while and focus on travelling, experiencing different ways of life and learning through real-world experiences. It's been one of the most rewarding decisions I've made, and along the way I've developed the adaptability, independence and practical mindset that I bring to every project I join.
I'm also comfortable with physical and outdoor work. I've completed three seasonal harvests in Australia involving grains, olives and wine grapes, which taught me to adapt quickly, work hard and live comfortably in rural environments for extended periods.
At 32, I combine professional experience with a genuine curiosity for learning from new people, places and projects. People who know me would describe me as reliable, curious and easy to be around. I keep shared spaces tidy, show up on time, take responsibility for my tasks and don't require constant supervision. I'm also a decent cook and enjoy being part of a household rather than just staying in one.
I'm looking for hosts who genuinely care about what they do. When people are passionate about their project and communicate openly, the rest usually falls into place. -

I can teach Spanish (native) and English (fluent). Languages have been a long-term interest of mine, and I’ve always enjoyed learning them and using them to connect with people from different backgrounds. Over the years I’ve also picked up German and Italian, mainly through living and studying abroad. I’m also interested in continuing to improve both of them, and I’d even like to learn a new language at some point in the future. For me, language learning is one of the most rewarding parts of traveling, and I’m always happy to share what I know or practice together with hosts and other travelers in a relaxed, informal way. -

What else ...
I have a genuine interest in geography and history. I can easily spend hours reading about different cultures, borders, ancient civilizations, and how the world has evolved over time. It’s probably one of the reasons I enjoy traveling so much.
For exercise, I run and cycle regularly. I also really enjoy outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping in the mountains. The more remote and wild the place, the better. -
