Hi! My name is Jesse aka J Messy...

I live in Fresno, California where I work with children (typically K-6th) to collaboratively design school gardens and green school yards. I love building garden and small farm related projects for friends and neighbors and my community.

I'm doing a 2 to 3 month bike trip starting at the end of June 2024! I'm headed to do a 2 week natural building internship in Mendecino, CA. I'm hoping to find another place to visit and collaborate on building projects for August and September (and possibly into October!)

where I hope to connect with schools, farms, and any eco focused spaces to design and build interactive spaces for kids and adults. I have worked as an educator most of my life but in 2016 I started learning Permaculture and getting into urban farming and community gardening. I was able to use this to cultivate my love for wood working and building small scale projects.

I am fascinated with living regeneratively and in community with others! Slowing down and supporting each other is how we can start to cultivate new systems that will replace all of the destructive ones we are stuck in. I love connecting with anyone and everyone looking to explore more regenerative and reciprocal ways of living so please connect with me!

I am fluent in English and have taught it to native English speakers in an Elementary Education setting. My degree and background is in interpreting and teaching of American Sign Language. I still teach people ASL through tutoring occasionally.
