  • Description

Hi! I’m Jitka from the Czech Republic.

I’m someone who feels most alive when surrounded by nature, inspiring people and meaningful conversations. Curiosity about the world has shaped my life for as long as I can remember, which led me to study Geography and spend many years living in Prague.

For many years, personal growth has been an important part of my life. I enjoy learning—not only new skills, but also from people, cultures and everyday experiences. I believe that every place and every person has something to teach us if we stay open and curious.

At the moment, I’m spending time on Madeira, slowing down, exploring the island and allowing myself to be open to new opportunities, meaningful projects and the people I meet along the way. It feels like the perfect moment to experience life more intentionally.

Workaway is much more than a way to travel for me. It’s an opportunity to contribute, share everyday life, learn from others and become part of a community rather than simply pass through.

I believe that kindness, curiosity and a willingness to help can make any place feel like home. 🌿

  • More details about your skills

My background combines hospitality, event management, volunteering, and hands-on experience in different environments.

For the past three years, I have worked as an Event Sales Manager, where I have developed strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills while coordinating events and working closely with clients from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy creating welcoming environments, staying organised and finding practical solutions.

Volunteering has been an important part of my life for more than 10 years, supporting elderly people through a Czech foundation. Last year, I joined Justice for Nature in Costa Rica, where I contributed to environmental conservation and wildlife protection.

I’ve also spent two months working on a farm in the Netherlands, helping with everyday farm tasks and enjoying physical outdoor work. Living in Iceland for six months taught me to adapt quickly, become comfortable in new environments and appreciate simple living close to nature.

Studying Geography gave me a deep appreciation for different cultures, landscapes and sustainable ways of living, which naturally inspired my passion for travelling and volunteering.

I’m reliable, organised and always happy to learn. Whether it’s practical work outdoors, helping with daily tasks, supporting guests or simply being part of a team, I enjoy contributing wherever I’m needed.
