  • Description

    Hi !
I’ve just finished up my master’s degree in art history last year and am taking a gap year before deciding on what’s next. In the meantime I’m focusing on doing things that make me happy. At this moment, taking care of horses seems to be it ! I’m very passionnate about each projet I get into and have at heart to do things the best way I can do them, so I hope I can be of help !

    Research and cultural experience
Although I’m not applying for lots of cultural workaways as of now, I can always help with any personal project that you have regarding art ! My specialization is medieval iconography and I absolutely love getting into archives to dig up things about unnoticed monuments ! But really, my love for foraging and research runs deeper, meaning I can get passionate about pretty much anything you hand me.

    Horse experience
I started horse riding in France at the age of 6 in a regular club, and loved it, of course. I had my favourite horse, Fantomas, who was a regular kicker and biter, but was really sweet once you got to know him. I rode him in competitions and whenever I could during my lessons. Due to the mistreatment of some of the horses that I witnessed, I decided to change my club, despite how heartbreaking it was. There I had my first bad fall, where I broke my arm. We say in French that whenever you fall you have to get back on the horse directly, sadly that was not gonna happen with my arm in a cast ! I got back to horseriding nonetheless after 6 months, but it wasn’t the same. So I decided to try ethical horseriding in the South of France and really enjoyed it. Getting to know the horse, what he was trying to tell me, and focusing on my communication helped me feel confident again in my horseriding and enjoy it more. During this time I also tried western style riding in Camargue and loved it too.
My first workaway was in a horse sanctuary in Gili Trawagan. We walked the horses daily, fed them and groomed them, overrall just taking care of them in semi-autonomy, while educating the tourists that were visiting the center.

    Guide
Out of the many jobs I’ve done, and ones I liked the most, being a guide was my most fulfilling one. My passion in life boils down to being able to share with other people. I spent one year living on that passion while studying, as I was giving conferences in elderly clubs and retirement houses throughout Paris and its broader region, on various topics. It was so enriching because I got to learn about topics I would have never even thought about, and then I could dispense what I had learnt and have discussions with people who were so grateful about it.

    Waitress & receptionist
My summer jobs pretty much consisted of that ! I got my first experience in a restaurant as chief of restauration, which meant I was the one in charge of all the other waiters and training them. I like physical jobs and I like connection with people, so overrall a good mix. As a receptionnist I enjoyed the administrative tasks that we had to deal with.

  • More details about your skills

I’ve done many of the student jobs out there in hospitality, as I speak three languages and I love to help people and advice them. Mostly, I would say my skill is adaptability. My willingness to learn is what drives me to do the things that I do, therefore if I have a goal in mind I’ll do what it takes to reach it.
My studies have helped me mainly with my skills in researching. My attraction to art is mostly linked to my attraction to spirituality and the way humans have represented their faith. While I’m not a believer, I consider myself to be very spiritual and open-minded, and I think religions and faiths are beautiful, hence why I like to delve into them.

  • What else ...

I have traveled in about twenty countries before thansk to my parents who always valued learning about new cultures. It’s my main passion, that and sharing with others what I learn along the way. I would love to give conferences about cultural things, it is a job that I’ve had before in elderly house, and probably one of the most fulfilling one.
Otherwise I love sports, board games, video games, TV shows, cinema, cooking and going in nature, although I don’t do it as much as I want to. I have a greyhound and I care deeply for animals, so I tend to be a vegetarian when I’m on my own, but I adapt to the people around me.
