  • Description

Hello! I am new to the Work Away app and I'm using my brothers account (hence the name).

I am from London, England, and I have been travelling across South America for almost 6 months! I’ve recently begun my solo adventures and plan on doing some volunteering in my last few weeks of travelling.

I’ve had an incredible experience iver the last few months and feel incredibly fortunate for this opportunity. I've enjoyed exploring new and exciting places, cultures, and practicing my Spanish.

I'm eager to expand my knowledge and spend some time working within a community or with a family - learning more about local life and customs.

I have a lot of experience with working with people - specifically within caring. Before I left my travels I worked as a nanny, caring full time for a blind girl. I was also tutoring and helping a student with art and writing.

Alternatively, I have many hobbies including drawing, painting, photography, art history, guitar, and sports.

I pride myself in being a hard worker and I think it’s important to push myself out of my comfort zone and therefore think Workaway is a great opportunity.

  • More details about your skills

I'm ready to get stuck in and try new types of work.

I received my degree at Manchester University studying History of Art. I hope to find a career within the realm of art, possibly selling antiques and fine art.

I enjoy making art, studying the subject, as well as subjects like History, music and English.

Since leaving university, I worked as a carer for a blind and disabled child. This included day to day care, activities and medical assistance. I also provided help and cleaning around the house, and spent a lot of time looking after the younger sister.

I also spent many years caring for an elderly lady. This involved assistance in everyday life, medical help, general upkeep of the house and most importantly enjoying conversation and socialising.

I am currently a tutor, now working virtually as I am away. I assist a young teenage student with coursework for his art and design course since he has some learning difficulties.

I also have experience within the hospitality industry.

I enjoy working with and helping people and have experience providing services for people of all ages and a variety of backgrounds.

I really enjoy work that requires a sustained level of activity, mental stimulation and I feel confident working both in teams or on my own.
