Description
Hi! My name is Ida, a 23 year old Norwegian who loves to see other countries and culture trough volunteer work!
I grew up on a hobby farm with horses, cows, sheep, chickens, cats and much more! I’ve always loved working with animals! Im also a person who likes to work hard and be active! Learning new skills is one of my favorite hobbies, haha. In my free time i do a lot of hiking, sports and some knitting projects.
I would describe me as a quick learner, someone with positive energy and always ready for a new challenge! I love to work as a team with people, but can also be very independent!
I would say my experience with horses is intermediate! I have ridden since i was 6 and feel very comfortable on different horses, but i have never taking any riding lessons! My family only use the horses for trail riding! I also have experience with dogs, as i like to have them as my hiking buddies! I have mainly worked with huskies and tollers!
In 2023 i did volunteer work in Canada. Helping on two different ranches (cattle and horses). Now i want to travel more, after finishing my bachelor in human movement science! Im looking for a ranch with Cattle and horses in Canada mainly!
Send me a message if you feel like i would fit your homestay! -

More details about your skills
In our farm i have taken care of sheep, horses, cats, dogs, some cows and chickens! I would say I know these kind of animals very well! With horses I have ridden both difficult and easy ones. Right now my sister have a stallion that can be very unpredictable. I am used to feeding animals and taking care of them. I find it important to know how to be around animals in harmony.
My dad and my siblings are builders, so they have learned me some things about building and I have helped them many times! My mom loves gardening and I help her sometimes. She plants most flowers but also vegetables like carrots, strawberries and potatoes! In my family it is normal to help around the house and I often do things like cleaning and cooking!
I can chop wood, fix fences and ride tractors if you instruct me on how yours work! We also have children In our family and I sometimes look after them, feed them and put them to bed.
I am used to get my hands dirty and my dad often wants me to help him with all kinds of things! Although if things are new to me I am a fast learner, and would love to do something I haven't done before:) -
