  • Description

Hi there! We are Imre and Charlotte and are in South-West England for Spring 2026 with our dog Freyja and our beloved Fiat Panda.
We have had separate experiences with Workaway and are now on a shared adventure.
You could see us as a couple of hobbits: we both love crafts, being (and feeling at) home, good food, company, books, walks, and... Well, we do love adventures. Perhaps we'll meet you there?

    About Imre:
    Hello World!
I decided I had enough of my 9 to 5 job as a goldsmith and wanted some more flexibility in my life. So I quit my job, left my home and started traveling, though I do plan to eventually get back to making beautiful things again. As it turns out, you can make beautiful things even when travelling :)
Knitting has grown to be something I like a lot and I usually have a project with me wherever I go now. In my search of things I like I have decided to learn how to shear sheep so I can combine cuddling animals and craftsmanship in one fell swoop.
I've managed to catch a few glimpses of (rural) farmlife and so far I liked what I saw. It seems great to just take care of all the things that need to be done and then when the work is finished for the day go back inside and unwind with a boardgame, some reading and knitting
I've been told I am reliable, have a sharp mind and I'm both easy and fun to be around.

    Practical information:
    28 years old
    from The Netherlands
    Drivers license and a car
    fluent in Dutch and English

    About Charlotte:
    Heya :)
I graduated from art school last year as a multidisciplinary, nature-based artist.
Ever since graduating my focus has been on learning more about flora and fauna and contribute to rekindling and sustaining the connection we have with the natural world.
Over the years I have done many Workaways all throughout my adult life (Freyja being a souvenir from one of the first in Iceland), and over time I have realized that I've been collecting bits of experience and knowledge to create my own place one day: a home for humans and animals and plants which seamlessly combines art and nature, something like an artist retreat centre.
I am creative and have many skills in that department, I have made murals for two separate Workaway hosts and also painted the cabinets of a Workwaway hosts' kitchen in Norwegian Rosemaling.
I am also independent, conscious, gentle and love books, music, arthouse cinema, deep conversations, the outdoors and cooking.
I have worked in several guesthouses, sometimes running them on my own.

    Practical information:
    - 28 years old
    - from The Netherlands
    - flexitarian

    - art school graduate (photography and film)
    - Plays a lot of musical instruments a little bit and often sings to herself while working.
    - Artistic skills: Photography, film, textile, 3D-art, dance/performance and more. I also make illustrations, am good with a camera and have a sharp eye for detail.

    About Freyja:
On a Workaway experience in Iceland back in 2018 I took care of the guesthouse as well as the dog. She was my daily dose of sunshine on an island where sometimes the sun won't show its face for weeks. Through an unexpected twist of fate I ended up adopting her, which was the craziest and best decision I've made so far in life.

    Practical information:
    - 14 years old, 15kg
    - From Iceland
    - Border Collie x Icelandic Sheep dog
    - Very chill for a scollie; yet surprisingly active for her age.
    - Listens exceptionally well
    - Sterilised
    - Good with children, other dogs and calm around other animals, although a bit tense around cats at first: tendency to chase them off but listens to me if I tell her not to.
    - LOVES people, will happily go with you on a walk or receive belly rubs.

  • More details about your skills

    Imre:
As for the skills I bring along I like to think I'm pretty versatile.
I have experience working as a cook in a kitchen, working in a hostel/B&B and 3 years of working at a jewellers as a goldsmith.
Whenever I don't know how to do something I can catch on quickly.
Things I would like to learn are woodworking, more metalworking and taking care of different kinds of animals, I know a bit but there's always more to learn.

    Charlotte:
My skills are diverse. My strongest suit is creating; whether it's art (photography, film, drawing/painting, dance or music), or a meal to warm the heart: I LOVE to cook with natural ingredients, no plan whatsoever and somehow it always works out. Vegan Asian-ish is my specialty.
Skills I have learned during my past experiences with Workaway:
    - guesthouse/B&B work: roughly 2 years of experience in total, have run a guesthouse alone for several months near Tromsø, Norway.
    - general household tasks
    - gardening
    - chopping wood, making fire
    - animal care (hens, pigs, dogs, cats, sheep)
    - painting large artworks/murals
    - some building
    - being in charge of the food for a household.
