About Me: Hi my name is Hunter, I live in Washington State USA where I work in the construction industry and as a fence installer. I come from a family of 6 and always had a house full of pets including dogs, cats, chickens, and even some goats. Growing up I was always playing sports year round, spending time with friends, traveling with family, and being creative in whatever ways possible. As the youngest amongst my 2 brothers I always had to work hard for their respect and that helped me obtain a strict and mature mindset and routine through life. I'm an animal lover at heart and have a natural passion for helping and meeting others that I thank my loving family for. Although not a car person for most of my life I did gain a passion for cars and the culture around them and spend some of my free time modifying my own car as well as attending different events around my state. Another passion of mine if sports. I've always had a natural competitiveness and have always used sports to express that.

Travel Experience: During my summer breaks as a child my family and I traveled across the United States to spend time with my mom’s family in Wyoming. There I would spend time on grandparent’s farm which helped further develop my love for animals and the outdoors. In 2018, I took my first international trip to South Africa where I volunteered at a school for three months. It was one of the most memorable and joyful experiences of my life. During my upcoming travels I plan on visiting over 13 different countries over a 7 month period.

Other Volunteer Experiences: My main volunteer experience was in Muizenberg South Africa where I worked at a school teaching reading and writing courses before and after school along with sports education during the day. I participated in daily activities, played with kids, and supported teachers in whichever way I could. My original goal of the trip was to vacation and the volunteer work was just to decrease the cost of my trip but over the 3 months I was there I had a complete change in how I wanted to spend my time l. My only obligation with the school was 4 hours of sports education but I soon found myself spending an additional 4 hours a day split up before and after school teaching additional courses. Working at the school and within the community had a very profound effect on my view of the world and immensely increased my love for experiencing different communities.

  • More details about your skills

Throughout high school I worked for a local fish and chip shop as well as working for a catering business during the summer. At those jobs I learned skills such as customer service, time management, routine cleaning, and maintaining consistent hygiene practices. I have almost 10 years of experience building fences where I initially worked as a laborer but after graduation college joined as a foreman. Working at a professional fence installation company gave me the opportunity to build fences in all different materials and styles ranging from big projects on jobsite such as airports, universities, and commercial businesses to small ones such as backyards, gardens, and local public trails. Building fences gave me a unique learning experience where I had to learn how balance my work between efficiency and quality. It taught me how to work independently and to take pride and responsibility in the finished product I'm producing.
