Hello! My name is Melvin. I’m 21 years old and I’m from France.

Right now, I want to travel, discover new cultures, meet people from all over the world, and especially improve my English. This is why I decided to go to Australia, a country I love for its nature and its cultural richness.

I am a friendly, curious, and open-minded person. I enjoy meeting new people and learning from them. I think my personality grew a lot thanks to scouting when I was younger. Scouting taught me how to share, live in a group, be resourceful, respect others, and stay open to many ideas.

I am also very handy: I often helped my dad renovate attics and do DIY at home. I like solving problems, I am resourceful, independent, and always motivated to learn.

I am passionate about cooking and I love preparing homemade meals — it’s something I really enjoy sharing!

I want to say that my English is quite basic right now. But this project is a great chance for me to improve, and I’m ready to work hard to get better. I am very motivated to practice every day and learn from the people I meet.

For my first weeks in Australia, I am looking for a kind and enriching experience through Workaway, ideally near a city to adapt slowly. I can help with many tasks: gardening, small repairs, renovation, cleaning, cooking, animal care, or collective and eco projects.

My English level is very low, possibly due to a poor education. I believe there is no better way to learn a language than by being fully immersed in it every day. This project is a great opportunity for me to practice, improve, and gain confidence.

What else ...

Sport is a big part of my life. I play football (soccer) and go to the gym regularly. In general, I love being active — I definitely prefer playing sports over watching them!
I'm also a big fan of board games. I have a nice collection in France — I’m not sure if they exist in Australia, but I’d love to introduce some of them to you!
