    🌍 About Me
Hi there! I’m an art teacher originally from Wales, now living in Malta for the past 10 years. I'm someone who thrives on creativity, connection, and contributing to meaningful causes-especially when they involve the environment, education, or community spirit.

As an artist and educator, I love encouraging others to express themselves and see the world in new and imaginative ways. Whether it’s through painting, murals, or hands-on creative workshops, I believe in the power of art to inspire change and bring people together.

    💚 What Drives Me
My deep love for the natural world motivates much of what I do. I’m a dedicated volunteer with Nature Trust Malta, where I’m actively involved in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Over the years, I've worked closely with protected species, coordinated turtle nest monitoring during the summer, and helped nurse hedgehogs back to health for re-release into the wild.

I've also volunteered for two consecutive Christmases and New Years at Kuemar, a turtle conservation project in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It was such a beautiful and humbling experience to work alongside passionate people protecting nesting sea turtles and their fragile habitats during one of the most important seasons of the year.

As a vegan and someone who deeply respects all living beings, I try to live as sustainably as I can, always looking for ways to reduce my impact and support projects with strong eco-ethics.

    🏀 Sport & Spirit
My background in sport has given me resilience, teamwork skills, and a love of movement. I used to play basketball for Wales and have since shared that passion as both a wheelchair basketball coach and a school coach for U13 and U16 teams. Running is another love of mine-it's my way of connecting with nature, staying grounded, and exploring new places (sunrise runs are my favourite!).

    🙌 Why I’d Make a Great Volunteer
    I bring with me:

A strong work ethic and a team-player mindset

A creative approach to problem-solving and community engagement

Experience working with people of all ages and abilities

Deep care for the environment and animals

Flexibility, enthusiasm, and lots of energy 😊

I’m especially excited about opportunities that involve:

    Wildlife and nature conservation

    Environmental education and awareness

    Eco-sustainability projects

    Community mural and art projects

Whether it's getting my hands dirty in a garden, helping at a sanctuary, coordinating an art workshop, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, I’m ready to contribute wholeheartedly.

Looking forward to meeting likeminded souls, learning from local cultures, and leaving a positive impact wherever I go 🌿

  • More details about your skills

Through both my professional career and voluntary work, I’ve developed a wide range of skills that I bring to every project I join. As an experienced art teacher, I’m confident leading creative sessions for individuals or groups of all ages, adapting to different abilities, and using art as a tool for community engagement, education, and wellbeing. My conservation work with Nature Trust Malta and Kuemar in Costa Rica has given me hands-on experience in wildlife rescue, species monitoring, and habitat protection—requiring precision, responsibility, and deep care. I’m physically fit and not afraid of hard work, with strong stamina and a proactive attitude, thanks in part to my background in competitive sport. My coaching roles—both in school teams and in wheelchair basketball—have sharpened my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. I’m also comfortable with public speaking, organizing, and coordinating groups, whether it’s for environmental education, sports, or creative community events. Overall, I’m a dependable, compassionate, and adaptable person with a strong sense of initiative and a deep drive to contribute meaningfully.

  • What else ...

When I’m not teaching, volunteering, or running around in nature, you’ll probably find me sketching in my journal, listening to music, doing yoga or planning my next sunrise run—my favorite way to explore new places and clear my mind. I absolutely love watching wildlife in their natural habitats; even the smallest creatures fascinate me. A fun fact about me: I once helped rescue a snake from a car engine that had given the driver quite a fright, I was lucky enough to save and release it back into the wild. I’m always curious, always learning, and happiest when I’m giving back, connecting with others, and spending time outdoors.
