Description
Hello, My name is Giulia, I’m Italian and currently living in Uganda where I work as a Communication Officer for an NGO.
For this summer (starting around June/July, with flexibility on the end date), I’m looking for a place where I can contribute, meet inspiring people, and at the same time continue working on my personal projects remotely.
I’m a designer by background, with strong experience in communication and graphic design. I’d be happy to support your project with visual communication, social media, branding, storytelling, or any creative needs you might have.
At the same time, I’m also a passionate vegan chef — I truly love cooking for others and creating moments of connection around food. If useful, I would be very happy to contribute in the kitchen and help create nourishing, plant-based meals for the community.
I have previous experience managing a hostel, so I’m comfortable in shared environments and happy to help wherever needed. I speak fluent English, good Spanish, and understand Portuguese (I lived in Portugal for 2.5 years and in Spain for 1.5 years).
More than just a place to stay, I’m looking for a meaningful exchange — a space where skills, ideas, and stories can circulate.
Thanks to Workaway, I had the opportunity to join a wonderful project in Tanzania, where I lived for three months, fully immersing myself in the local reality and actively contributing to daily activities.
While living in Portugal, I also spent a summer managing a surf camp, taking care of organization, guest relations, and coordinating the overall experience.

What else ...
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, art and cooking are my passions, I love to cook for other people and I'm vegan since many years! 2 years ago I worked in a hostel/surf camp as volunteer and after few weeks I became manager of the place and I organized all the volunteers shifts, surf classes, check in and check out, breakfast etc, now I would like to repeat the hostel experience but I'm also open to other adventures. ( I have also experience in restaurants and hotels) I consider myself a digital nomad since I'll move with my computer and tablet and I'll take the next months to do some small jobs and to research for a more stable one. I'm open to help with any design job, socials and taking photos. Right now I live in barcelona and I'll leave my flat to a friend to enjoy the workaway experience for more or less 1 month and probably move back here after.
