  • Description

On February 26, 2024, we (Gabbie and Alex) packed up our lives into a 2006 Toyota Matrix and set out to drive the longest road in the world—the Pan-American Highway. What began as a search for “what else is possible” beyond the rural and city lives we knew, quickly became a journey rooted in our desire to reconnect with the earth and give back to her, as she has given so much to us.

As we traveled across Canada and the U.S. into Mexico and Guatemala, that longing for deeper connection shaped our path. In Guatemala, we volunteered on a cacao farm and regenerative center and were struck by how disconnected we’d become from the origins of our food. Eager to learn more, we volunteered on a regenerative farm in Belize.

There, we discovered the true potential of regenerative agriculture—farming in harmony with nature. We worked the land by hand and horse, ran soil tests, built compost systems using effective microorganisms, and tended livestock including chickens, goats, rabbits, cows, ducks, and more. We harvested tropical fruit, planted crops, and supported a self-sustaining kitchen. Along with clearing dense jungle to expand the orchard.

Here is where we fell in love with farming.

From there we spent 7 months in Nicaragua volunteering on a 111-acre passionfruit farm, where we developed a bokashi composting system and applied the regenerative practices that we learned to maintain a thriving kitchen garden and manage five acres of jungle landscape.

Most recently we have spent the last 7 months living and working on a coffee farm and homestead in Costa Rica.
    Here we:
    • Alex built a bokashi and vermicomposting system for a 5-acre coffee farm
•Alex designed and built a home climbing gym
•Gabbie designed, built, planted and now manages a 500 sq. ft. kitchen garden (tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, peppers, eggplant, beans, zucchini, herbs, greens, etc.)
•Together we’ve been doing video production
•Our next project is building a cob pizza oven

After nearly two years on the road, we’re now heading back to Canada with the goal of working in Canadian farming whilst working towards our long-term goal of building our own regenerative farm.

We’re hardworking, adaptable, and passionate about contributing meaningfully wherever we go. We love hands-on projects, learning new skills, and supporting farms and communities that are connected to the land.

If you’re looking for reliable workers with regenerative farming experience, a strong work ethic, and a deep respect for the earth — we’d love to connect.
