Description
Hello, my name is Frida and I am currently 18 years old. I really love traveling and meeting new people, which is why I would like to participate in workaway. I grew up in Koblenz, Germany, a city located between the rivers Rhine and Moselle. I live with my parents, my 19-year-old sister, my 17-year-old brother, and five chickens in a house in a suburb near vineyards.
In March 2026, I will finish school, and before starting university, I would like to take a gap year. On the one hand, I want to travel and simply experience exciting new things. On the other hand, I want to take a break from school life and gain more practical experience.
In my free time, I play soccer, the trumpet, and the electric bass. I also enjoy trying out new activities, such as bouldering or different creative pursuits.
In my opinion, it is important to constantly step out of our comfort zone (which is easy for me to say, as I love new challenges! ;)). But I think leaving our comfort zone allows us to learn new perspectives, teaches us about ourselves and most likely gives us amazing memories! A friend of mine visited Nepal, partly through workaway, and the stories she told me were so inspiring. It seems like the perfect opportunity—one I definitely don’t want to miss. :) I'm really looking forward to meet other workawayers and of course you, your home and culture!

More details about your skills
I worked as a babysitter for 3 years and I love doing crafts. I paint and sew and with felt, cardboard or modeling clay I craft what is practical or just comes to my mind. I have the most basic skills in gardening (did a two week work practise in this field) and woodworking, but they could need a refresher :). Lately, I have been into photography and want to teach myself more skills in this field after my graduation. Last month, I also participated in a journalism workshop. There, I learned how to conduct interviews and how to record and edit a podcast. In general I would say that I'm a fast learner and very interested in acquiring new skills.
In school, my advanced courses are French, Physics and Music and I worked as a privat tutor in English and French for younger students. If desired, I can also teach you the basics in my native language (German).

In the description of this category is one idea to talk about the borad games one like to play, so here are mine: Siedler von Catan, Cabo, Codenames, Kniffel, .... And I really love to learn bord games, so please teach me your favorites! :)
I'm also interested in reading and learning about political topics, especially feminism and climate change.

Feedback
She is a very friendly, positive and easy-going young woman, and it was a pleasure to have her at home.
During her stay, she did a great job renovating a garden lounge, including sanding and painting.
We also had a lot of fun playing trumpet together :)
We highly recommend Frida to… read more
