Description
Hi! :)
I’m Franziska, a German traveller currently exploring Canada on a working holiday visa. I love being outdoors, hiking, reading a good book, and especially meeting new people with different backgrounds and stories to share.
Over the past three years, I worked in a community-based organization in Germany that ran local projects – including a neighborhood café, programs for children, and small renovation and repair work. I regularly helped organize events, cared for kids and seniors, did painting and basic carpentry, and supported wherever needed.
That experience really shaped me – it taught me how much I enjoy working with people of all ages, contributing to something meaningful, and being part of a team. Now I’m excited to keep building connections here in Canada, learn new things, and help out wherever I can.
I also recently WWOOFed on Gabriola Island and loved the hands-on work and the mix of people. I’m reliable, positive, and not afraid to get my hands dirty – whether it’s in the garden, helping with basic building tasks, cooking, or caring for animals, children, or older people.

More details about your skills
Over the past three years, I worked in a community-based organization in Germany that focuses on bringing people together through local initiatives. I was part of the team running a neighborhood café and helped organize events like concerts, art exhibitions, and cultural gatherings.
One of my main roles was working with children – organizing activities, playing, and supporting their needs in a caring and responsible way. I also enjoyed being part of a supportive team, learning how to communicate clearly, stay flexible, and take initiative when something needed to be done.
Through this work, I developed strong people skills, reliability, and a good sense for teamwork :))

What else ...
For me, the best part of these experiences isn’t just the work itself – it’s the people I meet along the way. I love getting a glimpse into someone else’s everyday life, learning what matters to them, and being part of it for a little while.
I really enjoy the conversations that happen naturally when you live and work together – whether it’s about farming, routines, big ideas or just everyday things. I’m curious, open-minded, and genuinely interested in other perspectives.
So I’m not just looking forward to helping out, but also to the shared meals, laughs, and all the little moments in between :)
