  • Description

Hi! My name is Franco, I’m from Argentina and I’m currently based in Tauranga, New Zealand.

I came to New Zealand to experience the lifestyle, meet new people, learn about the culture and help with practical projects while living and travelling here.

I’m a hands-on, practical and reliable person. I enjoy fixing things, building, maintaining spaces and finding solutions when something needs to be done. Over the years I have worked in different areas including IT support, software development, general mechanics, automotive repairs, construction, home repairs, basic electrical work, plumbing, gas-related maintenance, gardening, farm work and general property maintenance.

I’m happy to help around a home, farm, garden or lifestyle property with maintenance, repairs, cleaning, organising, outdoor work, basic building support, mechanical tasks, animal care and daily routines.

I also have practical experience with vehicle maintenance, tools, trailers, pumps, water pipes, taps, sinks, toilets, drainage, light fixtures, switches and general repair tasks. I always try to work safely and carefully, and I understand that some electrical, plumbing or gas jobs may require a licensed professional depending on the situation and local regulations.

I’m also good with technology, so I can help with computers, phones, printers, Wi-Fi, routers, smart TVs, emails, software issues and general tech problems. I’m patient and I enjoy explaining things in a simple way.

People usually describe me as calm, reliable, hardworking and easy to get along with. I can work independently, but I also enjoy teamwork and learning from others.

I’m not afraid of physical work and I’m happy to help wherever I’m needed. For me, Workaway is a great opportunity to connect with people, share experiences, help with meaningful projects and learn more about life in New Zealand.

I’m always happy to help, learn and be part of a good team.

More details about my language interests
Spanish is my native language, so I’m always happy to help others practice or learn Spanish if they are interested. I understand English quite well, but I would really like to improve my speaking and gain more confidence in everyday conversations. One of my goals while traveling is to practice English regularly. I also have basic knowledge of German and I’m interested in continuing to improve it as well. For me, learning languages is a great way to connect with people, share cultures and create meaningful experiences during travel.
