Description

Hi, we are Francesca and Federica, a close and curious couple. We are always ready to challenge ourselves and discover new ways of living. We love meeting people, sharing experiences, and learning from every encounter.

We are both very sociable and creative, although in different ways. Francesca is outgoing and loves adventure. In life she does stand-up comedy, comics, and tattooing, and her passion is cooking and music. Federica, on the other hand, is more reflective but still very sociable, and expresses her creativity through reading, writing, tailoring, photography, and her interest in culture in general. She works as an educator and has also had experience in the film industry.

Throughout our lives, we have had different experiences, often connected to social causes. We are activists and strongly believe in human rights, social justice, and the value of communities. We have taken part in projects, associations, and collectives that reflect these values.

We love nature and animals. We are vegetarians and are trying to move more and more towards veganism. Even though we live in Rome, we take every opportunity to spend time outdoors and reconnect with nature.

We are excited about the idea of traveling, learning new languages, discovering different cultures, and actively contributing to the projects we will encounter along the way.

I can count on two hands the number of times in my life when something truly precious has happened with people I barely knew before. The time we have spent with Frad and Federica is undoubtedly one of those rare and beautiful occasions.

Frad and Federica are two very special people — wonderfully different from one another, yet both possessing … read more such beautiful, generous souls that illuminate the faces and spirits of everyone around them. From the moment they arrived, they were eager to help in every way they could, throwing themselves wholeheartedly into whatever needed to be done.

Their stay coincided with an intense heat warning, as the Sicilian summer scorched the land. Yet they were completely undeterred. They rose at 6am, before the midday sun became unbearable, and set about clearing the ground around the base of our olive trees in preparation for the harvest. It was no small task, with more than 100 olive trees to work around, but they approached it with energy, care and a wonderful sense of purpose.

There was also a forgotten, overgrown corner of the land — a wild little space swallowed by trees, ivy, creepers, brambles and years of neglect. Over the days, Frad and Federica patiently brought it back to life. They cut branches, cleared leaves, moved stones and slowly revealed the beauty that had been hidden beneath it all. In doing so, they didn't simply clear a piece of land; they restored something that had been overlooked and forgotten.

These are moments beyond the work that we will carry with us most deeply. The ability to reveal those overlooked corners and forgotten aspects of ourselves as we worked together in the land.

Here, in this remote corner of the Sicilian countryside, we shared meals outside beneath the open sky and found ourselves immersed in wonderfully rich, honest and profoundly moving conversations. We shared stories and experiences of our Queer lives — the joys, the struggles, the losses, the hopes and all the things that can be difficult to put into words with people who haven't walked similar paths. We laughed together. We cried together. We meditated, worked, walked and simply spent time together. Somehow, in the space of those days, strangers became friends, and friendship became something deeper and harder to define. For us, this is Queer love.

There is something uniquely special about this place — something wild, open and quietly Queer in its own way. And somehow, Frad and Fede seemed to belong here. They have left something of themselves behind with us: in the land they cared for, in the spaces they helped restore, but most of all in our memories and in our hearts. Their presence has become part of the story of this place.

We only hope that they have been able to take something equally precious away with them — a little piece of this land, these moments, these conversations, and the feeling of being welcomed, understood and truly seen.

Some people pass through your life and leave little trace. Others arrive unexpectedly and, in a remarkably short time, leave something behind that stays with you. Frad and Federica are those people.
