  • Description

Hi! My name is Emma, I’m 26 years old, and I’m from Mantua, although over the past few years I’ve lived in Bologna first and then in Perugia. I love traveling, discovering new cultures, and actively contributing to the host community. I’m a reliable, flexible person with a strong desire to learn.

I have experience in hospitality, language teaching, cooking and general catering, as well as harvest work (like grape picking in Lyon). I’ve done a bit of everything :) and I’m always eager to learn new tasks and challenge myself. I enjoy working in a team but I can also manage tasks independently.

In my free time, I enjoy sports such as trekking, climbing, running, and swimming; but also other activities like cooking, photography, cinema, music, and occasionally reading. Most importantly, I really love spending time in nature.

I believe that a Workaway experience is the perfect opportunity to grow personally, make new friends, and immerse myself in the local culture.

  • More details about your skills

I bring a variety of experiences and skills that I think would make me a great addition to your project. I’ve worked in hospitality, language teaching, cooking, general catering, and seasonal work like grape harvesting in Lyon. For many years, I have also volunteered with young people with disabilities, which has taught me patience, empathy, and how to work effectively in supportive and caring environments. I’m enthusiastic about learning new tasks and taking on challenges, and I enjoy both collaborating in a team and working independently.

Travel has played a central role in shaping who I am. At sixteen, I went on an AFS exchange program to Thailand, and that experience made me realize how essential travel is—not just to explore the world, but to better understand myself and the people around me.

I am also comfortable with outdoor activities, manual work, and creative or practical tasks. I am adaptable, curious, and motivated to contribute positively while learning from every experience.

I look forward to bringing my skills, energy, and curiosity to your project and making a meaningful contribution.

  • What else ...

I’m someone who adapts easily to new situations and loves immersing myself in different environments. Traveling alone is one of my favorite things because it challenges me, helps me grow, and gives me the chance to discover more about myself and the world. I’m a mix of energy and reflection—I love staying active and getting things done, but I also enjoy quiet moments to think, observe, and put my thoughts into writing.

I’ve always loved animals and have had experience with dog sitting, which has been both fun and rewarding. Taking care of them has taught me patience, responsibility, and the joy of forming a connection with another living being. Being around animals also gives me a sense of calm and balance, and I enjoy every moment spent caring for them.
