Work commitments have kept me from travelling for a long while but I'm finally able to head off in a new journey!
Originally from Cornwall, but splitting my time between seasonal work in Canada and living in Leeds. I teach horse riding during the summer, and outdoor education during spring and fall seasons. When in the UK I do retail or service work. I also run an online store selling my crafts.
I'm ideally looking for work with animals on farms, ranches, stations etc. I have a lot of experience with horses and would love to get more work with them. But I am also interested in work with/around other farm animals, chickens, goats, cows, sheep pigs etc. I am also experienced with dogs and other household pets as I was raised with them growing up and have done a little work helping with dog training.
I love music, crafts, animals, and singing.
When at home I spend most of my free time doing crafts! My main ones right are needle felting and and punch needle embroidery, but I also enjoy painting, leather craft and drawing. I have a bachelor's in film production and enjoy video editing and making motion graphics animation.Interests

More details about your skills
I have a lot of experience working with horses, both through personal experience and paid work. I started riding at age 5 and went as often as possible growing up when we could afford it. When I was 20 I did a workaway at an amazing ranch in Canada and fell in love with western riding. Since then I've worked at 3 different ranches in Canada and one in the US, as well as 2 summer camps. All jobs involving handling of horses, barn work and usually some riding. I was head of the horse riding section at a summer camp in Alberta teaching lessons, leading trail rides, training staff and looking after the horses. I grew up riding english but all my paid work has been in western. I am comfortable with both styles though may not have the best form in english after riding western for so many years haha.
I have plenty of experience with dogs and small animals as we always had them growing up. We had up to 11 pets in our house at one point, including including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and rats. We currently have a special needs Romanian rescue dog who lives with my parents.
I am quick to learn new skills and enjoy taking on new challenges. Through previous workaways I learnt to drive a tractor, quad bike and an ATV for work. Sadly I do not have a driving license so have never driven a car. (But its on my to do list asap!)
I've worked at 7 different summer camps across Canada in the last 12 years in a variety of roles including activity instructor, videographer and even maintenance. I have instructed both horse riding and arts and crafts in different camps but I've also worked outdoor education in the off seasons so have led/assisted a variety of activities including canoe, archery, kayak, low ropes/ initiatives, fire and shelter building and camp games. So I have experience working with kids, groups, being part of a team and training and supervising new staff.
I have a bachelors in film production and enjoy video editing, motion graphics and videography as well as some photography.Age

I worked here as a server/kids program worker and occasional house keeper. I stayed for about 5 months and have the best time of my life. I experienced so much of Canadian/cowboy culture and the ranch totally felt like home! I… read more
