Description
Hi I'm Emily! I'm from the UK and am planning to spend approximately six months travelling around Western Canada.
I love the outdoors - hiking, running, camping, swimming, kayaking - if I'm outside, I'm happy. After spending six months walking the length of New Zealand, I'd love to spend lots of time backpacking - I'm hoping to hike the Sunshine Coast Trail and West Coast Trail. I'm keen to learn new things, see new places, meet new people and lots of new foods across the way.
This is my first time using Workaway and after hearing so many good stories about it I'm looking forward to seeing where this adventure takes me and learning about Canadian ways of life!

I've spent the last four years working as a Marketing Officer for a small theatre company where I developed strong communication, organisational and team-working skills. My work for this organisation has been very varied - the nature of being part of a small team has meant that as well marketing related tasks, I have also helped out with building maintenance (mainly painting and decor) and general events assistance. I have lots of experience in customer facing positions - both on the phone and in person.
I am confident working independently or part of team and enjoying helping to make projects come to life.
In my early twenties I also spent time living in France - both as a student and as an English Language Assistant helping to teach English in local high schools (although my French skills are now a bit rusty!)
Overall I'm a hardworking, reliable person with a positive mindset and a willingness to learn new things!
