My name is Ellis, and I am currently studying International Forest Ecosystem Management in Germany. I am very excited about the opportunity to leave my hometown of Berlin for a semester abroad. Although the internship abroad is a requirement of my studies, I feel fortunate to be able to organize it independently.
I have traveled with Workaway before, and this time I hope to go to Spain.
Through my studies, I have gained knowledge of forestry and ecosystems in general. I am eager to expand my skills in gardening, permaculture, and agroforestry. I am also very interested in animal care and construction work. After two theoretical years at university, I am now looking for the chance to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of what I have learned.Interests

More details about your skills
I am very interested in self-sufficient living, in farming, and in observing ecosystems — how they work and what we can learn from them.
I have just started to learn about forestry and farming. Before that, I traveled a lot, completed two yoga teacher trainings, and worked as a fitness instructor. I like to be active, spend time with other people, and, if possible, go hiking, swimming, or surfing.
In my free time, I am learning to play the guitar. I love music and would like to get to know new instruments or songs. In general, I am very keen to exchange knowledge and stories with others. I enjoy writing and reading, I like tea, and I love cooking. I feel good when I can be of benefit to other people.
I grew up with many different animals — rabbits, birds, hamsters, and dogs — and I really enjoy being around animals. I live in a big city but always somewhere near a city forest or a big park. I feel trapped as soon as I have no green space to retreat to.
I don’t need much. I have everything at home, but sometimes that makes me feel like not moving at all, and at times I don’t know who I want to be. That is why I am so grateful for the opportunity to go abroad. I want to be a support, to learn from different cultures, families, friends, and approaches. I really want to come as a student — motivated, curious, and open-minded.Age
