Hello!
My name is Ellen, I am 29 years old and I am from Germany. I am an open-minded, reliable and curious person planning to travel to Japan from July 2026 for approximately one year. I have already visited Japan twice on holiday, which deepened my interest in the culture, everyday life and especially in Japanese gardens and plants.

I hold a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and have a strong professional and personal interest in nature, gardening and traditional Japanese garden design. For the past two years I have been learning Japanese, and I am highly motivated to continue improving my language skills through daily life and cultural exchange.

I am very active and enjoy sports, especially volleyball and tennis. I work freelance with children and previously spent one year as an Au Pair in England, which gave me valuable experience in childcare, responsibility and living in a family environment. I also love animals and enjoy spending time caring for them.

I have already had very positive Workaway experiences in Australia, so I am familiar with the concept and value mutual respect, commitment and open communication. I am a fast learner, hands-on, and open to a wide variety of tasks — whether in the garden, with children, animals, around the house or helping with creative projects.

I am really looking forward to meeting new people, contributing my skills and learning from my hosts while experiencing everyday life in Japan.
