Hi!
I'm Quentin from Britanny, France
39 years old, but they say I look younger.
What would probably define me best is my enthusiasm for words, languages, and good conversation.
I started speaking English in London in 2007, and Spanish in Valencia, Spain, in 2016.
Depending on my next travels, I might dive into Brazilian Portuguese or an Asian language like Vietnamese.
Jobwise, I’ve done quite a few different things: waiter, kitchen assistant, customer support, automotive mechanic, sound technician… I also have some experience teaching languages, and I’m comfortable being around children.
I’d say I’m good at explaining things clearly and helping others understand, whether it’s a language or something practical. I am also good at handling sensitive matters that require tight communication skills.
I’m usually calm, patient, and organized, but I can definitely be lively and fired up when the moment calls for it.
My second most defining trait is probably a deep love for music.
I like singing - mostly karaoke, but also some fast-rap songs in English I've learned by heart.
I love dancing to hip-hop, house, techno, rave, dub, funk, jazz, alt-Rock/punk rock, metal... you name it.
I once was a very small-time drum & bass DJ who never made it out of his shared living room in East London, despite the hype of his flatmates.
These days, I'm especially interested in learning more about building (tools, systems, machines, houses..), mechanics, and growing food.
I'm also quite interested in the new ways of organizing society in a fairer, more democratic, and sustainable way.
If I had to sum myself up in three words: help, learn, and share.
(Feels cheesy to write it like that, but after a lot of thinking, I have to say it's pretty accurate)
