I live in a national park in the middle of Canada where most of the year there is more traffic of wildlife than cars. Feeling a oneness with Nature is so healing. Outdoor adventures is what I seek.
Description
I have a reverence for all life and yearn to discover authentic experiences in nature and other cultures. I have been an outdoor educator and naturalist for over 20 years with a Masters of Education that focused on teaching reverence for nature. I also love to create nature videos with the amazing footage and photos I have collected from working in various national parks across Canada, travelling to other countries and capturing my experiences with family and friends. My two sons and two grandchildren live nearby so I am able to get and give frequent doses of love. I am lucky enough to live and work in the national park so when my family visits we spend lots of time exploring nature.
I love latin dancing and would love an opportunity to be immersed in a country where I can learn Spanish and embrace more of that culture. Besides dancing and family love, my nurturance comes from the wonder and awe of nature and I spend as much time as I can in the sunshine kayaking, hiking, biking and camping. I was raised on the prairie but had the opportunity to work for a decade along the east and west coast of Canada in national parks and developed a deep personal bond with the ocean. I am searching for Workaway experiences that will enable me to reconnect with the ocean and its bordering wilderness. I thrive in places where diversity of all beings is honoured and protected and would love opportunities to empower others to embrace a conservation ethic.
My employment with Parks Canada is only from May to November every year so I am available every winter for a Workaway experience.
