Description
Hi! My name is Daria and I’m from Częstochowa, Poland. I recently finished high school and I’m currently taking a gap year. I’m new to Workaway and I’m really excited to use this time to travel, meet new people and experience the world in a more local way.
I’m an open-minded, curious and easy-going person who loves discovering new places and learning from different people and cultures. I’ve always wanted to see more of the world, not only as a tourist, but by experiencing everyday life and getting to know the people who live there. At the moment, I’m especially interested in places such as Thailand, Costa Rica, Peru, Australia and different parts of Africa, although I’m open to other destinations too.
During my gap year, I’d like to step outside my comfort zone, get to know myself better through new experiences, meet people from different backgrounds and hopefully learn another language. I believe that personal growth comes from experiences, and I want to make this year meaningful while also creating good memories.
I really value kindness, doing good for others and being a good person. I volunteered with Szlachetna Paczka and also helped involve my high school in supporting one of the fundraising campaigns. I also worked as a waitress for over a year, which taught me a lot about responsibility, communication and working with people.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, learning languages, hiking, going for walks, stretching and running. I’d also love to learn new skills during my Workaway experiences , maybe cooking something local, working with plants, crocheting or simply learning how to work well as part of a team.
I’m looking forward to meeting new people, learning from them and seeing where this adventure takes me. -

I can teach both Polish and English, and I’d be happy to help someone practise and improve their language skills. I’m also learning Italian myself and I would say my current level is around A1–A2. I’d love to learn new languages during my travels as well and practise them with local people. I think learning a language through everyday conversations and experiences is one of the best ways to do it. -

More details about your skills
I have experience working as a waitress for over a year, so I’m comfortable working with people, communicating, taking responsibility and working as part of a team. I’m friendly, patient and I learn quickly.
I also have experience volunteering with Szlachetna Paczka, where I helped with organising support for family in need. I also encouraged my high school to become a donor in one of the charity campaigns, so I enjoy taking initiative and getting involved in things that can help other people.
I speak Polish fluently and I have a very good level of English. I’m currently learning Italian and I’m always interested in learning new languages.
I enjoy cooking and I’m happy to help with preparing meals and learning new recipes. I also like spending time outdoors, hiking, walking, running and taking care of plants. I’m open to learning practical skills such as gardening, cooking, crocheting or anything else that I can be useful with.
I’m not an expert in everything, but I’m reliable, willing to learn and I’m not afraid of trying new things. I’m happy to help wherever I’m needed and I enjoy learning by doing. -
