Description
Hello!
We are a Franco-Australian family: both parents are French, and both kids were born and raised in Aussie!
After years of travelling separately, Jean-Christophe (JC, 46) and I, Coline (39), met in Cairns in 2018. JC arrived with a wonderful little boy, Silvère (11), and a few years later, Timéo (5) joined the family for the adventure.
We love camping, spending time with friends, going to festivals, travelling, and much more. Resort-style holidays are not really our cup of tea, so this year we decided to volunteer in Tassie!
JC and I have been using Workaway for many years. As a family, we have volunteered at festivals, helped with tree planting, and pitched in on projects for friends. We are hard workers, so we're looking for a place with well-organized projects ready to get started (bonus points if you're building a cob house!).
We would also love to volunteer somewhere with other children so our kids can play together and make new friends. Our kids are very friendly and adapt quickly.
We want to show our children that there are many different ways of living, and we love learning from communities about collective action, self-sufficiency, and resilience. -

More details about your skills
The good thing about getting older is that we have learned a lot of skills over the years!!
We have experience in gardening, eco-building, housekeeping, monster-raising,...
JC is a horseman able to break, train, or just look after any member of the horse family (and dog as well). He's also a qualified carpenter and he's currently retraining as a baker. He's passionate about baking the best sourdough bread and would love to experiment in a clay oven.
I know about biology, have been working in hospitality for years, am a dive instructor, and am currently retraining in social work/psychology. I am a quick learner with high organizational and problem-solving skills.
Silvere is a sensible, almost-teenager who loves being outdoors, models clay and looks for insects.
Timeo is a full-on boy, extremely sociable and talkative!
Our idea is that our kids play with your kids while we are working -

What else ...
We are easy-going and want to meet people and have some fun while contributing to a nice project.
We would be happy to sleep in a tent.
We eat almost anything.
We are careful about our alcohol consumption.
We smoke sometimes and not too much, so it is not an issue. -
