Description
Hey! My name is Charlie and I'm a 24 year old aussie from a small (but mighty) remote town in Western Australia :) I grew up with a lot of independence and the ocean was my playground for the better part of 17 years, where diving, fishing and surfing kept me occupied and happy. I left my small town at 18 to travel and reconnect with family in the UK. On this trip I had two workaway experiences in greece and italy and were easily the best part of my year. At the time I signed up because I was an 18 year old with very little money and nowhere to go, but 6 years later I look back on that time with pride and gratitude as one of the greatest experiences of my life. I graduated university last year with my bachelor degree in psychology and am now looking to travel some more before I start my masters degree in 2026. I currently work as a disability support worker, working with people who live with disability to achieve their goals and get the most out of keeping an active and happy life!
As cliche as it sounds I am most motivated by human connection. I am a people person and put high value on friendships. I love activities outdoors that bring people together, and find great happiness in sharing skills and working towards a shared goal. I find I gain energy from being around others and love nothing more than being invited into someone else's world. After breaking my ankle earlier this year and being home-bound for three months, it has reminded me the importance of having others around you.
I am eager to get out of my comfort zone and let experience take control!Languages

More details about your skills
Growing up in a farming town in Australia I am no stranger to hard work... I have worked countless grain harvests, waking up at the crack of dawn to feed animals, driving heavy machinery and working on vinyards.
I have worked as a nanny to a young boy as a previous workaway experience, and have extensive experience working with children and adults who live with disability such as Autism, mental health illnesses, wheelchair bound or schizophrenia.
I am also a keen sewist and crocheter! While I am not professionally trained, I have spent countless hours crafting together my own wardrobe, and hand-made all of the equipment I would need for my bikepacking trip from second hand materials.
I have basic competency in sailing and rock climbing but am looking at upskilling myself even further!
While not my strongest suit I'm no stranger to the kitchen, and am extremely clean and tidy.
I worked with an amazing family in greece on their off-grid farm during a workaway experience, however using sustainable farming methods and learning skills in construction is my main goal for workaway experiences as I hope to one day build myself a tiny home made from recycled materials.Age
