Hi there,
My name is Channi, I am 25 years old and from Germany.
At the beginning of next year (2024), I want to travel through Europe, accompanied by my 5 years old dog.
One of the main focuses of my journey is to help in different animal welfare projects along the way. I am passionate animal lover. I spent my recent vacations volunteering at an animal shelter in Romania. Working with animals brings me inner fulfillment and happiness.
I enjoy the calm of the nature and love spending time outside with my dog.
During my travel, I want to get to know new people, places & ways of living.
I would love to learn new things, to grow as a person and to learn more about running a sanctuary/shelter, the life on a farm, permaculture and gardening.
I am always willing to try new things, to offer help and to learn new skills if needed

I have volunteered multiple times at a Romanian dog shelter. I assist with tasks such as feeding (including administering medication), walking the dogs, cleaning, providing basic training, building trust with fearful dogs, capturing photos/videos for adoption purposes, interacting with potential adopters and sponsors, and more.
I am always ready to lend a helping hand and I don't mind getting dirty.
In 2018, I traveled through Europe with a friend using Workaway. During our travels, we participated in various projects, including:
Hungary: Engaging in self-sufficiency activities, gardening and painting fences, work in the vineyard, haying, animal care (sheep & dog)
Romania: Assisting in the renovation of an old guesthouse and gardening.
Austria: Supporting the daily care and rehabilitation of dogs.
Portugal: Providing care for approximately 30 animals, including horses, dogs, cats, sheep, goats, chickens, hamsters, rabbits, and a turtle.

What else ...
My 5-year-old female dog is traveling with me. She loves people and is also compatible with other dogs. However, if she is provoked, she knows how to defend herself.
