  • Description

Hi and thank you for reading my profile. M
y name is Carola Martha and I am from Berlin, Germany where I work as a primary teacher. I love being outdoors, whether it’s hiking through the forest, working in our community garden, cycling in the countryside or going canoeing. My daughter is called Namia and is 13 years old.

    Why I’m on Workaway

Back in 2015 when I first signed up on workaway my daughter, who was only 4 at that time and I volunteered in Belgium, Ireland, Latvia and Slovenia. Now in 2025 I cannot retrieve my previouspreviois account. This is why you see my new profile on workaway.
I'm here because I believe that traveling is not just about seeing places, but about connecting with people and sharing cultures. Workaway gives me the chance to meet locals and make new friends.

Before the pandamic we had been very active in the couchsurfing community, hosting and surfing a lot of couches in different countries (Belarus, Romania, Bulgaria, Norway, The Ukraine, Croatia, Lithuania etc). We had such an amazing time and met a lot of interesting people who inspired us and with whom we are still in touch.

I have cared for animals, including feeding, walking, and cleaning, as well as helping with their daily routines on my auntie's farm in Calgary, Canada.

Last summer while travelling in Uganda I have had the privilege of working with a non-governmental organization, supporting an incredible school project focused on providing education to children in underprivileged communities.
