Hello dear hosts and volunteers!
My name is Carlotta and I’m 21 years old. I’m from Germany and currently taking a gap year after finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in the Netherlands. I’ve always loved traveling, but now I want to experience it on a deeper level — really getting to know new cultures, connecting with people, and learning from everyday life wherever I go.
I’m passionate about social work and especially enjoy spending time with children. Through internships and past work, I’ve gained experience teaching and caring for kids, which has been incredibly rewarding. I’m organized, reliable, and independent, but I also love working with others and bringing positive energy into any environment.
I’ve traveled quite a lot — exploring Europe by Interrail with friends, backpacking through Asia with my boyfriend, and traveling often with my parents when I was younger. I fell in love with Asia when I first visited Thailand at 12, and now I’d love to return to see more of its beauty, culture, and people.
In my free time, I love staying active, going for walks in nature, swimming, working out, and reading. I enjoy being surrounded by people and having good conversations. I’m open-minded, curious, and excited to make meaningful memories, meet wonderful people, and fully experience life wherever I go.

Yes! I’d love to help others learn English, and I can also teach some German if you’re interested. I really enjoy language exchange and getting to know people through communication. Right now, I’m also learning Dutch, since it’s my boyfriend’s first language - so I know what it’s like to be a learner too!

I’m experienced in taking care of and teaching children, having practiced this through internships and work during my studies in Psychology. I’m organized, responsible, and able to work independently, but I also enjoy collaborating with others.
Beyond that, I bring creativity and a willingness to learn — whether it’s helping with daily tasks, arts and crafts, or other hands-on projects. I’m empathetic and a good communicator, which helps me connect easily with people from different backgrounds. I’m adaptable and motivated to contribute in any way that’s helpful to my hosts, while also learning from the experience.
