We are interested in eco projects, content creation, education & hospitality. We are ex-teachers and content creators who share our learning online to promote the local community & culture.

Description

We call ourselves the "Breakaway Bravehearts" - because at 50-something we have bravely broken away from our 9-5 careers (in hospitality and education) to live out our dream of travelling the world. We've both experienced living abroad, and have travelled throughout Europe and Asia. While English is our native language, Darryl speaks German and Justine speaks a little Japanese.
We are motivated by personal growth - in ourselves and others. We are digital nomads, who create Social Tourism content, because we believe travel is an opportunity to give back to a host community while learning & growing. We love the idea of creating our own path as we travel around the world helping others realise their dreams too.
We are constant learners - and are happy to give anything a go. While our primary skills are in restaurant management & teaching, we are now developing our skills in content creation and have a growing YouTube channel.
What brings us happiness is sharing the passion & happiness of others. Darryl is chatty, energetic, and constantly positive about life. Justine is the nerdy-half, who needs movement & challenge, and loves to think through how to bring a project to life.

More details about your skills

We have both just recently come out of long careers in hospitality and education. Darryl has experience as a restaurant manager, and Justine as a teacher and school principal. We are constant learners and are currently developing our skills in content creation - Justine films & edits our You Tube content, while Darryl researches, captions and creates the thumbnails - so we have some skills in Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Wix website creation. We have also gone through the experience of renovating our own home, but we would definitely not call ourselves experts in this area at all - we are happy to follow directions when it comes to home-handy-man type work, or gardening, but don't have the expertise to do such work fully independently. Darryl can whip up a healthy meal and enjoys creating in the kitchen (Justine loves to eat his creations). Justine's creative side comes out in arts & crafts, she's made a couple of cosplay outfits in her time, and has taught a few children's art lessons. And as a bonus special talent, she can teach you how to make & spin Maori poi!

What else ...

Darryl has a teenage son, who lives in Germany, and Justine has an adult daughter living in London. We all enjoy playing Uno and watching movies together, Darryl and his son like talking about cars and Justine and her daughter like talking about books. Justine recently taught Darryl how to play Yahtzee but now he always wins, so we don't play that anymore :). We are both very active, we love getting out in nature and are comfortable around animals (although Justine needs time to warm to dogs & we have only small experiences with horses).
