Hello and welcome to my profile!
My name is Fabienne, I’m 27 years old and currently doing my Master’s in Art Conservation and Restoration in Stuttgart, Germany.

I had amazing Workaway experiences a few years ago when I was traveling in Scotland, and ever since then, I’ve wanted to travel this way again. This year I’m finally able to take the time to do so.
What I enjoyed most was getting to know a place through the people who live there, by being part of their everyday life and projects rather than just passing through.

I would describe myself as more on the quiet side, but I truly enjoy good conversations, social connections and a sense of community.
I enjoy arts and crafts, rollerskating and music from the 50s to 70s (with a few exceptions from the 80s).

I’ve started studying Italian on my own and would love to take it a step further by spending time in Italy, practicing the language with locals and experiencing the richness of Italian culture stretching from art history to food and daily rituals.

I enjoy having people around and things going on, while also appreciating moments to slow down and recharge. I’m open to different kinds of projects and hosts and excited to discover different sides of Italy along the way.

I’d say I come with typical conservation-and-restoration traits: being patient and reliable, paying attention to detail and working carefully.

At the same time, I like being crafty and doing simple hands-on tasks around the house.

I know a bit about cooking and baking and would love to learn more and have fun with it.

Since I enjoy studying languages, I'm happy to practice with others and also teach some German if anyone's interested.

Growing up with cats and doing horse riding for many years as a kid and teenager, I picked up some experience in animal care as well.

Fabienne has been very nice, polite and a good companion! She always prepared dinner for me to have it together when I was coming back home and help me out with the gardening, replacing flowers and plants. She took care of my two cats and cuddled them all the time :)

I spent three weeks with Tanya and Alex and definitely had a great time there. Their b&b and classic car hire is located in a stunning Scottish scenery and is not far from the village Dollar, which has quite a nice castle. Although I spent only two weeks in Kingsbarns, I really felt being part of the village life, due to Sue, who introduced me to her friends and all the activities in the village. She took me to the art and her yoga class, to the cinema and we also went for a hike in the stunning Fife area.
