Hi ! I'm Bettina, a French/Peruvian girl on a working holiday in Japan since last June !
I'm very curious, and my relatives and friends say that I'm also positive and cheerful ! :)

I'm an agronomist, and I've always grown up close to the countryside. I'm an adventurer and I love traveling and discovering new cultures, learning new languages and connect with people. I have lived in different countries, such as Peru, Cambodia, and Brazil (~6months each) and visited other countries in Europe. Regarding Japan, I already came once in 2023 for a month, and it just made me wish to come back (and here I am !)
My hobbies are multiple : artistic and manual crafts, plant care and gardening, photography (film photography lately), reading, writing.... and I have always had a strong interest for Japanese culture since I was a child.

I'm starting this journey because I was in need of a change in my life, and felt a strong need to reconnect with myself, and nature. I have been working 5 years in Paris, as a consultant in environment and sustainable agriculture, mostly in countries of South America and Africa. However, I was mostly on a computer, and after personal hard times, I felt the urge to leave Paris to pursue my dreams.
Sustainability, ecology, and respect of humans and the environment is very important to me, so I hope I can share some of this with the hosts that are willing to welcome me in their projects/daily lives :)

I'm quite new to Workaway platform, I just finished my first workaway : one month farming in Nagano prefecture (watering, weeding, harvesting, grass-cutting etc...)
I also have previous experiences as a volunteer. I've worked as a ranger for 6 months in the Amazon forest in Peru (and have a lot of interesting stories to tell about this!). During my studies, I worked in a dairy products farm in France, doing all kind of tasks. I lived many years in shared apartments so I have no problem with sharing spaces, and keeping them clean and organized.

My Japanese is still not good enough to write this presentation in Japanese, but I really hope I can practice more while being in Japan, and that we can exchange a lot !

I stil don't have much experience in teaching, but I'll be happy to teach French, English and Spanish, and some basics of Portuguese and Italian. I really want to learn more Japanese !

I'm a fast learner, curious to learn plenty of new skills. What I already do :
- gardening and outdoor care
- Artistic projects (painting, decoration, photography...)
- Some DIY
- Work on a computer (I have my own blog, and can manage SNS as well)
- teach French, Spanish, Portuguese and basic Italian

I have no experience in the food or hotel industry but I'm eager to learn if I can !
