Description
The end of 2025 marks the end of my first year as an English teacher in Argentina, where I've lived since late 2024. Though my educational background is in science communications, I've found fulfillment in teaching and plan to eventually return to school in the US and work towards my teaching credential.
My greatest joy is doing art and I spend most of my free time painting and drawing. I'm passionate about environmentalism and have been vegan for six years (though travel frequently requires some flexibility here).
Seeing the world has been a central priority of my life since I was a child. The experiences I've had and relationships I've formed throughout my travels have been fundamental to who I am and I'm eager to continue expanding my horizons.
My professional aspirations, artistic inspirations, and environmental/lifestyle choices are all rooted in the goal of having some small positive impact on whatever space and community I find myself a part of. I hope to find Workaday experiences that align with my values and interests and allow me to make a positive contribution to the communities I visit. Whether I can be useful for environmental/outdoor work, art projects, language exchange, or something else, I'm flexible and eager to learn from whatever opportunities come my way. -

I hold Cambridge English's Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), and have spent the past year teaching English in Buenos Aires. I teach a range of ages and levels, though I primarily work with upper levels and adult learners. Teaching has given me the chance to connect with people of so many different ages and backgrounds and I love the range of challenges and opportunities each new group of students provides.
I have bachelor's degrees in print journalism and environmental studies and have experience writing and reporting on a range of topics. My primary focus in university was science communications, which I remain passionate about.
Outside of teaching and comms, I spent many years working in the service industry both in coffee and food service. Coffee shops and restaurants have been some of my most positive work experiences and I have found so much fulfillment in my time working in service. I also have experience working in agriculture at farmer's markets and small vegetable farms. I enjoy working outside and getting my hands dirty. -
