Hi my name is Anthony Allen and firstly I'd like to say thank you for popping into my profile and it gives me great pleasure to welcome you.

I love adventure, experiencing new cultures and learning new languages. To date I have lived in 6 countries - I spent my childhood in the countryside of Ireland and as an adult I've lived in Australia, England, Kuwait, Spain and Iceland. I am currently living in Iceland, where my son is from, and I am enjoying the journey of learning the Icelandic language.

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher who has worked across three countries (Ireland, England and Kuwait) and I am currently studying a masters in International Affairs at the University of Iceland. I am currently planning an Erasmus semester in Paris for September to develop my French language skills and to be closer to International Institutions, such as the European Union and the United Nations, where I hope to work.

My reason for being on Workaway at the moment is that I want to find a place to develop my Icelandic language skills. I am well able to have conversations but I just need immersion now to really get myself to the next level and some patient Icelanders :) (You'll see me getting my certificates from my Icelandic school in my last two photos)

I can help out in whatever way is required. I am a quick learner and a hard worker.

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with 5+ years of experience, teaching across multiple countries so I am well used to being around children of all ages. In the school environment I worked, the children were from ages 5-12.

I have also worked as an additional needs assistant in a secondary school (ages 12-18) in Ireland for 2 years. In this role I was supporting children in the classroom who needed extra learning support.

I am well eqipped to do general housework and cooking also. I have been living independently for many years and I am happy to help out around the house in any way possible.
