  • Description

    Hello lovely people,

My name is Anna-Sophie and I want to use the upcoming months to discover new places while engaging in meaningful work, contributing to a community, NGO, family, school or farm. I love every kind of work related to gardening, children, yoga, crafts and food preparation and have experience in all these areas. Immersion in nature in a calm, beautiful place, and work in the garden and / or babysitting, cooking / baking and doing crafts or arts would thus be wonderful. I'm a social, happy, respectful and proactive person, looking forward to getting to know new people and helping them with their projects and daily tasks while experiencing different lifestyles and learning more about the world and myself:-).

You can find more about my prior experiences in the 'What skills do you have' section below. I'm looking very much forward to getting to know you:-)!

Formal education / Work / Passion
I studied philosophy, European ethnology and cognitive sciences and worked in research in the field of developmental cognitive neuroscience for several years. My heart belongs to working with children, contributing to meaningful projects, self-development and to everything that makes life beautiful: deep conversations and laughter, good food, handcrafting and spirituality.
I'm a Montessori teacher for children from birth to 3 years, a hypnocoach and non-violent communication mediator... and have just finished my (200h) yoga teacher training:-).
I have also volunteered in diverse projects with children and (adult) refugees (being a German ‘buddy’ for children with migration background; being a reader to children; teaching German).
I'm a social, happy, respectful, proactive and responsible person who loves family and community life, cooking and baking, DIY, handcrafts, working in the garden (and outside in general), music, dancing and, of course, getting to know other humans and learning about their culture.

I am looking very much forward to getting to know people from all walks of life, spending a lot of time in nature and engaging in meaningful, hands-on work.

Here below are a few more specifications about the experiences / skills I can offer and what I would like to learn:

Work in the garden / on a farm
I had the privilege to grow up with a beautiful garden where we grew many vegetables and fruits. Sowing / planting, taking care of the plants and beds, harvesting and preserving the fruits and veggies (making tomato sauce, marmalade, compotes etc.) are all tasks I truly cherish. Work in this area would be very appreciated. I would also love to learn about different food preservation techniques and exchange recipes and experiences. In my parent’s garden, we do everything organically but otherwise there is no special concept. If working on a farm or garden, I would love to learn more about permaculture, different irrigation systems and ecological and sustainable farming/gardening in general.
I love animals of all kinds but have only little prior experience in really taking care of them. It would be wonderful to have a chance to learn more about it.

    Work with children
I love being around children, playing, laughing and discovering the world together with them. Joining a community or family with children would thus be amazing.
I’m trained in Montessori education, especially for babies / toddlers (for both, home as well as nursery context), and I would be more than happy to share my knowledge (practically of course, but also theoretically, if you are interested). At the same time, I’m just as open and curious to discover different ways of upbringing / education and would be eager to learn from you and your experiences.
Babysitting, creative play, and homeschooling tasks in a family / community or more general teaching tasks in a school context is all work I would love to do.

    Yoga
This spring, I have completed my Yoga Teacher Training (200h) in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Finding a place where yoga is practiced (or where there is the space to practice it) would be wonderful.
If you are running a yoga school / retreat and need an assistant or someone to take over a class, I would be happy to do so. I’m trained in Ashtanga / Vinyasa yoga but I also like Hatha and Yin yoga a lot and have some experience in these styles too. In my training, there was a focus on alignment and adjustments of asanas and sequencing. We also had daily breathwork and meditation practice as well as yoga philosophy classes… but I know that there is so much more to discover and I would love to deepen my knowledge and practice in this field. I would be very happy about joining a project/community that also has a focus on the spiritual aspects of yoga.

    Handcrafting / Crafting
I love everything related to working with my hands and creating beautiful things. I have quite some experience in pottery, sewing, crochet, drawing and crafts in general. Decorating and beautifying spaces is one of my passions. I would love to learn about basketery.
I have experience with painting walls, furniture, and woodwork. I know how to use a hammer, screwdriver / drill driver and have some talent at building furniture together;-).
However, I have no experience with heavy machines… and, due to the fact that I’m rather small and slim, I will also not be able to hold those or carry very heavy things. All other building/carpentry related things I’m happy to try out. I’m a rather handy person and usually learn quickly.
I would love to learn how to build furniture from scratch and/or how to restore them as well as how to create natural building materials.
Projects that include this kind of manual work would be wonderful.
