Hi there, I'm Anja!
I'm 20 years old and have been living in Switzerland since I was born, where I attended high school until summer 2024. In the fall of 2025, I would like to go to college to study and eventually become a teacher. But before that, I would like to take a gap year.

My main goal for this year is to gain new experiences. I would like to get to know new cultures, see the customs of other countries, discover the world, have exciting experiences and, above all, meet new people! And of course I would also like to learn new languages and use the ones I already know, especially Spanish is on the top of my bucket list to learn!

I would describe myself as an open, helpful person who is curious and always ready to lend a hand.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, photographing, painting and cuddling with my cat Yuri. I also enjoy doing sports. In winter I like skiing and the rest of the year I do gymnastics in a club in my home town. I also coach and lead children in the same club, who also do sport there.

I'm really looking forward to exploring the world and who knows, maybe I can get to know your country with you!

More details about my language interests
I am very interested in learning many new languages as well as improving the languages I already speak. I would especially like to learn to speak Spanish fluently. I've had three years of Spanish lessons at school so far, but I've never been able to use it with native speakers.

As I grew up in the countryside, I helped with various jobs around our house from an early age. In summer, I helped my mother with the garden (watering, harvesting, processing the food, weeding) or looking after our animals (cats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs).
I helped my father with other tasks such as cleaning with pressure washers, a little bit of woodwork, planning, apple picking, etc.
I also learned to drive a tractor thanks to my ability to drive a manuel car.
In addition to the physical work outside the house, I also help with cooking and cleaning in the house.

In my free time, I also coach children in my gymnastics club, which is why I don't find it difficult to get in touch with children and I can deal with them and look after them. Thanks to my high school diploma, I can also tutor children who are struggling in math, German (my native language) or English.

In high school I focused on art, which is why designing posters or invitation cards is not difficult for me.

I also worked in service in a restaurant for three years, so I can give guests the best possible experience and kitchen work is not difficult for me either.
