Hi! I’m Deyan, 22 years old, originally from France. I’m passionate about plants, travelling, meeting new people and learning new things.
I came to Australia in March because my two sisters were already living here, and I wanted to share this experience with them while discovering a new country and improving my English. My English has improved a lot since arriving, but I’d still love to become more confident speaking.
I’m curious by nature and love getting out of my comfort zone, discovering new places, learning new things and experiencing different ways of life. I’m also very hands-on and enjoy creating things with my own hands. I love being around plants and nature, and I’m always happy to try something new.
I really enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories, as I believe everyone has something interesting to share. I’d love to meet people who can show me their way of life, culture and everyday routines, while sharing some good conversations and experiences together.
I’m easy-going, hardworking and always happy to get involved. For me, Workaway is not only about helping, but also about connecting with people, learning from them and discovering a different way of life. -

I studied landscaping for three years and have been working in the industry for the past four years. I spent two years working in Paris and then two years in the South of France, around Cannes, Monaco and Nice.
During these two years on the French Riviera, I worked for a luxury landscaping company and had the opportunity to work on some beautiful high-end villas and gardens.
I’m more specialised in garden design and landscaping than in maintenance. I have experience creating gardens and outdoor spaces from scratch, preparing and planting areas, working with different plants and materials, and helping transform outdoor spaces into finished gardens. I also have a lot of experience with masonry and hard landscaping, including building walls, stairs and fences. I’ve also done quite a lot of garden maintenance, even though creating and designing gardens is what I enjoy the most.
I’m very comfortable with hands-on work and working outdoors, and I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I’m also passionate about plants and enjoy learning about different species and how to create beautiful natural spaces.
Outside of my professional work, I also enjoy creative projects. On my days off, I used to make decorative frames using preserved and stabilised moss, which allowed me to combine my interest in plants with my creativity and enjoy making things by hand. -

I’m passionate about sports, adventure, and nature. I have an eco-conscious mindset and dream of contributing to the protection of marine ecosystems in the future.
I love sharing moments with people from all around the world, discovering new cultures, and of course, cooking French crêpes for everyone I meet! My dream is to get my boat licence and one day sail around the world. -

I spent two weeks at Raoul’s beautiful property, helping with clearing vegetation and cutting trees to create a firebreak. The property is absolutely stunning, and I really enjoyed my time there. I also had the chance to meet some of Raoul’s friends, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
