Description
I am a fun loving, flexible, hard working and honest farm boy from New Zealand. After leaving highschool and the farm, I studied civil engineering and worked as a structural engineer (mostly on highway bridges) for a couple of years. I have been travelling for 8 months now and am loving discoveeing different cultures and environments.
Volunteering is an awesome way to travel, connect with people, contribute to some cool projects and also have a laugh with along the way! I come with a big smile, easy foing nature and many practical skills from a farming background. Life is beautiful!

Was born and raised on a sheep and beef farm in New Zealand. Main jobs were mustering (with dogs), sheep shearing, drenching, docking, fencing, tractor work, chainsaw work, and a fair bit of hunting and fishing. Also know how to cook and clean to save myself from trouble with mum (bless her). Then I studied civil engineering and became a structural bridge engineer for a few years before travelling!

I love anything in the outdoors, hiking, surfing, diving, hunting, fishing and camping. Also a recent lover of reading books and relaxing at the beach! I love all sports and also board/card games, music etc. Into anything new also!

Alex wasn't staying at our hostel but he still helped out with language exchange at a local school asking nothing in exchange. Excellent communication, Alex is an easygoing chatty person taking the mist out if his travelling. Thank you!

Although I didn't end up staying with Monika and the team I was still able to help out teaching English at her children's school in San Cristobal. it was an awesome opportunity and I really appreciated the patience and warmth Monika has in responding to workawayers and organizing these opportunities!

I miss that "Good Morning Luciana!" that came along with a big smile, no matter if it was hot or mosquitos didn't let him sleep, he was always in great humor and answering every request with "absolutely!"
Chopping wood was natural for him and keeping the place clean and tidy was a blessing.

My stay with Luciana in Mahahual was fantastic! Once settled in to the environment and camping lifestyle things are super easy going and relaxing.
